Best burger I have had in a while! Everything was super fresh, and the food was delicious! The fries are freshcut in house. If you are familiar with Thrasher’s fries on the boardwalks in Delaware, you need to try these! All the taste, none of the seagulls attacking you.

Unfortunately, I didn’t get to experience the food because in my vacation mind today was Saturday, but to be fair to them it is Sunday. We walked in at 7:02, but they closed at 7. I was skeptical because the chairs were up, but the sign on the door said, “Come on in, we’re open.” So my 6 yr old daughter and I walked in. We stood at the counter and tried to get the attention of staff that we saw when we entered, but no response. I told my daughter, “we don’t spend money in places where we are not acknowledged.” We left and stood outside reading the signs at the establishment next door. While we were doing so, one of the staff members locked the door. It was in this moment that I acknowledged my mistake. I would have had no problem if one of them would have said “I’m sorry we are closed.”

What an amazing burger and experience! I got the Lagertha burger and I was skeptical that all the ingredients would work well together and I was blown away! So much flavor! The onion rings were also great. The woman taking my order was super nice and explained everything about the menu. There’s not a ton of seating so I’d imagine it gets crowded in there at peak hours but it is absolutely worth stopping here.

The best burgers in Newport News. Period. Cozy dining area, staff is amazingly friendly, and the food is to die for! Not once in the years I’ve eaten here have I had a bad experience. Worth every penny. Do yourself a favor and treat yourself to a proper burger!

I’ll revise my review by saying that I’ve always enjoyed eating at Viking Burger. The food is always on point. My only complaint from my last visit was the price versus what I ordered doesn’t equal the value. A buddy of mine paid for mine and his orders together which came to around $45. I just got a burger with a drink, no fries. It was like my order was half the total for a burger and a drink. I get that inflation is a thing and all that but I just wasn’t happy with the price for what was received. I’ll always be a customer, I’ll just have to plan on eating there every once in a while.

Pretty awesome burger place! Having tried two burgers I am confident that it is not possible to order a bad burger here, they’re all great! Of course, they are all pretty greasy and very far from healthy, but if you’re looking for a healthy burger, what’s wrong with you? On the healthiness scale, I’d say they’re about as healthy as Taco Bell or Hardee’s, so be cautious. The burgers themselves really do not look very good at all, but they are, despite the misconception! The restaurant itself is pretty shabby, and looks like it was thrown together to be just barely suitable (nothing actually wrong with it though). My only other complaint would be that it is pretty pricey – burgers alone are around $8, and then you gotta add in sides and a drink, so each meal is around $15, so I won’t be frequenting here for burgers. Other than that, this is a pretty great joint, I would come back again!

These burgers were so tasty. Lots of options along with the posted menu ideas. I definitely recommend the Valhalla stuffed burger. It’s stuffed with Mac n cheese and pulled pork. It had great flavor.

After searching for a good burger a couple of weeks ago, we landed on Viking Burger. The reviews were pretty good so we figured we’d give it a try. I gave the service one star because the person who took our order was not welcoming at all. He literally acted as if we were bothering him. His unprovoked attitude alone should have prompted us to leave but we stuck around. We quickly ordered and sat down to wait for our food. A very nice young lady approached our table with our drinks. When I asked for straws she pointed to a cup of uncovered, unwrapped straws that had been sitting on the counter near the register. It took 45 minutes for two burgers, one order of fries and an order of onion rings to come out. When they came out, the burgers were small, bland and crunchy, really over cooked. Fries were okay. The bun was best thing about our visit. We paid close to $40 and left hungry.

Okay, second time my husband and I’ve been here. Brought my inlaws this time. This place might be a whole in the wall, but it does not disappoint! Want a slamming burger? Come here!!! Are to go to right after visiting the VA living musem. Are first time we got to meet the owner who actually has long blonde hair and has viking heritage the second time the service wasn’t 100%, but the food was still as fantastic as the first time! A+ on flavor and price!!!! You will not regret the mouthful of yummyness that comes from this place!

The burger was great, but the fries were really poor. Sticky bottles with ketchup and mustard. I would recommend paying more attention to the cleanliness of the tables and the floor. The place definitely has a lot potential. 🙂
