I’m the type of person who tells it like it is, no cut cards. I have been coming to Vernans and Steve’s for a while. And let me tell you their crabs are always good and delicious. Depending on when you come the crab sizes vary of course. But they are very honest and will tell the types of crabs and the weight of them. If you ask , they will let you see the crabs before you buy them. The ladies and gentlemen are always very nice, friendly and welcoming. Its cute to see the kids are a part of the family business and have a lemonade stand. All around good people ( Family). The prices are good for the quality and quantity you get. Not too long ago I ordered some shrimp and they were good as well. Trust me , what are you waiting for, go get you some , you wont be disappointed. This is coming from (Cre) a crab addict.

Let me tell you this, you’re NOT going to find any better crabs than this! OMG I took my mom and husband, we bought a dozen and they are so big that we got full with like 3 each! The seasoning though if you’re ready to have the BEST CRABS of your life, then come here because they are the ultimate BEST!

Reading the reviews, I can honestly say that those with 5 stars are correct. Family run and owned. They are honest about the crabs they have in. If you go the beginning of the season, you will have smaller crabs. You come now, they are nice and fat.

My first crabs since moving here 2 months ago! I got a dozen of larges (great sizes!), they were a little light (early in the seaon) but great seasoning, very fresh and everything pulled out nicely!! Will definitely be back. Only place that is open on Fridays!

Fulfilled craving for tasty steamed crabs! Ordered a dozen #1 males ahead of time and picked up about an hour later. Located around a residential neighborhood and staffed by friendly folks. 5 hours after I got home, finally finished methodically eating 8 crabs and picking the meat for the remaining 4… I didn’t realize it takes me about 20-25 minutes to eat one crab… not sure if that is slow or average. Anyways, a bit pricey (compared to #2, which was sold out) but they were all between 5.5″ to 6.5″ in size and all the meat was firm and tasty. The only thing is that I would request a bit less seasoning next time. Will order again when craving steamed crabs…

I purchased a dozen crabs on Mother’s Day. Shane on me for not looking at the crabs before I paid/got home. I own that. The crabs were so small that they fit in my palm. And the crab meat was essentially ‘a taste’. We laughed so hard for the waste of time and money. GO SOMEPLACE ELSE. Anywhere. . Guess the laugh is on us. Buyer beware. I wish I could post a pic.

Some of the freshest crabs I have ever had in Northern VA. Dense, packed tight and worth the trip from DC. I ate a bunch hot then packed them for road travel to Ohio. On return I deshelled and halved a few to re-steam and set full ones out cold, as I prefer them. Both cold and resteamed were still amazing two days later! And eventually, most people preferred them cold!

Not too happy. Ordered a dozen #1 males and received 1 #1male. Wife ate 2 already. But I’m not too happy about this and probably will not return. If you don’t have a dozen #1s please just speak up. But it’s obviously about the money!!!!
