7/28/2023 I tried this place for lunch! I ordered the rotisserie chicken taco and the grilled flank steak! Both tacos were huge and I’m glad I didn’t order three of them! The rotisserie chicken taco was a little spicy due to the pablano peppers in it.

I love Velvet Taco. This location was no exception. My sister lives in Fort Worth so I’ve been to a handful of locations. This one has the BEST Chicken Tikka! And elote was hot and flavorful. Cool spot with above average tacos. I enjoyed the flank steak a lot. The Buffalo chicken meat was a bit grisly but the flavor was great. Also loved the shrimp tacos. I would say the brisket nachos were probably the best thing I had.

I first tried Velvet Taco when a rep bought lunch to my office and loved the Cauliflower Tacos. They were amazing. If I ever choose to go vegetarian, I would live off those tacos. Anyway, the fam and I dropped by the Woodlawn location over the weekend. The hubs and I both got a rotisserie chicken taco and a brisket taco and he also ordered a shrimp and grits taco along with my son. Each Taco is priced separately beginning I believe at $5 per taco. We paid approximately $50 for 7 tacos and chips and Queso so they’re a little on the pricer side, BUT they do pack on the meat and toppings! The menu is filled with several different and unique tacos that the hubs would like to try and I heard the margaritas were great so want to try those as well. I will go back to get their cauliflower tacos as they’re like no other! The brisket taco was hands down my favorite! The red velvet cake is great as well. The atmosphere is great and kid friendly and there’s an outdoor seating area as well. Be prepared to wait though. They didn’t seem short staffed, but it did take a little minute to get our food. Overall, we’ll definitely be back.

Is fair to say that this restaurant doesn’t serve authentic Mexican food, but it takes just a second reviewing the menu to see they are trying something “different”. And they are doing it right. I’m glad I stopped by and tried them out. Really enjoyed the bold flavors and service.
