I just needed a little wifi for an hour or so and I was passing by. I had a funny little convo as I stepped up to the counter. The board just says “Matcha” , 14oz or 16oz. That could mean several things. I asked, “Is that genmaicha? The green powder kind?” He looked a bit confused and asked, “Is there a different kind?” I just smirked and said, “Well, you never know what you’re really going to get when you walk into a place like this for the first time.” So, I figured, okay, just let the painter paint.

Luckily what came out for me was the best genmaicha latte I’ve ever had. I’m going out of my way to get more of these, for sure. I would have been equally happy with just a strong brewed genmaicha rice tea and some honey, but this was a nice treat.

Anyways, 5-stars, but “Matcha” = genmaicha latte (specify your milk type). If you just want a tea, ask for it.

We got up early to see the sunrise at the Red Rocks Park. We decided to stop by this cafe for our morning coffee as this was the only location open at the time. Glad to say we were pleased with our decision. This cute cafe has a gorgeous used bookstore within and a few antiques.

For drinks, my friend tried the Matcha Latte with Pistachio Syrup while I decided to stick to my usual Cappuccino with whole milk. We also got Chocolate Chip Muffin and a Butter Croissant. Everything was delicious. My cappuccino was a bit stronger than my usual and actually helped me get through my sleepless day packed with back to back activities. As for the croissant, I love all croissants, but something about a light and crisp butter croissant always hits the spot for me. This was just that but I do which it was warmed up (I probably should’ve asked the barista).

Great vibes! Love that they make their own syrups. Had the pumpkin spice latte.

Vellichor has a great atmosphere. Love all the books and variety of seating. They also make an excellent latte that has great espresso and they have a very tasty scone. I do miss their old cups with the shorter wide opening but still enjoy their coffee.

It is a nice place to grab coffee if you are at the area. It is a bit pricey (almost 8$ for oat milk vanilla latte), but the coffee quality is good. With all the wood furniture, shelves and shelves of books, and more secluded sitting areas, it offers a welcoming atmosphere. For me, the inside area was a bit noisy (with somewhat loud music and chatting), and I found the outside area to be quieter. The place itself is easy to find and there is much available parking around it.

Super cute book cafe— I love that there’s free WiFi, the sitting area is wide and open, and there’s many tables and places to set up and do work. The barista’s were quick with orders, though I wouldn’t say friendly—perhaps it had been a busy day. Not mean, just not particularly warm or welcoming, and that’s okay. There seems to be a thriving community here regardless, lots of groups that gather for knitting or chess, or just to chat.
It was pretty expensive – I paid approximately $20 for a small latte (no alternative milks or additions) and a burrito. You have to ask for WiFi, I couldn’t find any placards or anything.

I used to come to do school work all the time it’s a great place and good coffee. The only downside is now they close at 3 instead of 5. I get half the work done I normally do there now. I honestly wish so badly they kept their other hours! 🙁

I didn’t get any food so I can’t speak to the quality of that, however, the coffee was great! The latte art was beautiful and they were very quick and efficient. I met with my client here and it was not too loud and there were plenty of tables and seating to choose from! Will definitely come back when I’m in Golden ✨

Went here while waiting for my husband’s surgery which was the first case of the day so I was grateful that they opened very early. Ordered two shots on a dirty chai to make me function better to read half of the book I brought from home and they have a very cozy atmosphere surrounded by books and everything!
