The food is a bit pricey taking into consideration the portion size, however it is DELICIOUS. Probably the best vegan food I’ve had in NYC. You can tell it’s made with quality ingredients. We had the tunnel burger with a side of fries and the Saint Nick fried chicken with a side of mac & cheese and potato salad (wow!!!). I rather support a local business even if it’s a bit pricey than pay for bigger portions at a chain restaurant. Highly recommend.

I was surprised how good this place was. Two people I was traveling with said it was the best food ever, but they say that about everything. The “fried chicken” was very good. Very nice texture and taste. Mac and cheese was as good as some of the best I’ve ever had, and I’m from the South. Waiter was very friendly. Reasonably priced, although the location is certainly in the hood. Will potentially go back if I am traveling with a vegan again.

Totally enjoyed my visit to VeganHood. Greeted with smiles. Waiter very attentive to my allergies. This was my 1st vegan restaurant experience! Ordered smothered chicken with potato salad and collar greens. The potato salad was SLAMMING! Ordered seconds. The gravy on the smothered chicken was a little thick for me but it tasted just like real smothered chicken! Collard greens was on point! My sister had the oxtails with Mac & cheese/kale. She enjoyed her meal. The oxtails are spicy but very tasty!

It’s amazing what can be done with pea protein. The Flatbush (vegan oxtail) with the macaroni and cheese, & collard greens made for a filling lunch. If one is looking for a nice vegetarian restaurant this is a good choice.

For my first time trying only vegan food, I was not disappointed. The food was tasty and it felt almost like the real thing. The service was amazing, they were kind and very helpful when it came to answering questions if where their product comes from and is made. I recommend trying it.

I usually dine in at vegan hood, but this last Sunday I decided to order delivery. From their brunch menu, the shrimp and grits left me want more of those delicious shrimp. There were plenty of grits, and I ended up wondering if I should’ve gotten a side of eggs too. I always enjoy how seasoned and flavorful the food is here, I’m excited to return.

My experience was a good one. Almost a disaster due to the 1 server running around doing everything. But despite that she always kept a smile on her face and food came out piping hot. The chef brought our food out which is great to see him help out the staff. The food was delicious despite the rime we went. I love the fact they stay open later than other restaurants in the area.

The food was outstanding. No, seriously. I cook a lot of vegan dishes that people rave about, but this food right here! The fried vegan drumsticks are the best I’ve had, much better than mine. The flatbush oxtails were incredible, and the rice was delicious. Both tasted just like what Caribbean oxtails and rice & peas should. Shout out to Sunni, who helped make sure I got to the airport on time! Wonderful experience all around.

This was our first time at VeganHood and it was delicious. My youngest son had the kids meal chicken nuggets with French fries, my oldest son and husband had the Saint Nick Fried Chicken and I had the Flatbush which was oxtails. My two sides were the collard greens and Mac and cheese. Hubby’s sides were rice and peas and collard greens. The greens were delicious and flavorful and the rice and peas flavor tasted like stove top stuffing but they were delicious as well. The fries were salted well and the oxtails had a nice spice to them. My friend had the Bed Stuy Shrimp Fry which was also delicious, though a little oily for her taste but wow it tasted like I was eating shrimp and I would definitely say I would order that next time. The drinks looked beautiful and from I was told tasted great as well. The portion sizes were good and there was still food left over so we had to go bags. The music was upbeat with Caribbean and Afro beats playing in the background and the restaurant was comfortable and intimate. Our waitress Shaun was wonderful she made the experience enjoyable. FYI We had a big group so if you need to split a large check they only take 4 cards per bill. The bathroom was also clean.
