Omg this place is so good. Our food came out fasf it was hot on my goodness it was so good. The portions are a lot, like we ordered the loaded fries and that was more than enough for two people. My husband had the platter with the ribs, brisket, sausage, Mac and cheese and potato salad and it was all delicious. . He had the egg rolls(so good). Ee couldn’t even finish it all. Their brisket and chicken smoked chicken wings are so tender and full of juice. The Mac and cheese is so good. Not too many places In BR has good bbq. This place is definitely one of those awesome bbq spots. I love the barbecue sauce and the environment was nice you have the option to sit inside or outside we said inside of course because it was scorching hot. Definitely a place we will go back to for some good bbq.

The friendliest customer service on Perkins road is how your experience starts when you enter Unleaded. A converted Conoco station now hosts a delectable barbeque experience. The back area next to Leroy the Pig is where Phil smokes the meat fresh daily. An assortment of sauces including Garlic Honey, Sweet and Spicy and the staple, Unleaded BBQ give you a few options. Those wings are so smoked they’re black, but succulent and delicious. The BBQ Brisket Egg Rolls are a delight but don’t forget the sides. They have collard greens, Mac and Cheese and Spoon Bread which is like corn bread but mashed. The bar inside has more liquor than the store and a few televisions to watch football. The patio is nice but don’t mind the sound of Interstate 10 in the background, it’s just the sound of freedom. Jack Kerouac would have been proud to eat here and I know he would have appreciated local artist Stacey Rhoades whose work is featured inside for sale, depicting scenes from Route 66. Get your kicks at Unleaded!

I got the rib and pulled pork plate. Neither of the meat has any flavor to it, I don’t usually need sauce, but I did here. The sauce tasted like vinegar, so their sauce was out. The baked mac and cheese is not baked mac and cheese, just some cheese sauce over noodles and the cold slaw was swimming in sauce that did not taste good. Nothing tasted homemade. Will not waste my money again.

Unleaded BBQ is a must-try for the bbq scene in BR! The ribs were tender and flavorful, and the rub on the brisket was perfection! The potato salad was like eating a creamy loaded baked potato! The greens brought back memories of my grandma’s cooking! I love that they are dog friendly, and the patio is perfect for the fall temps! Magnolia and I will definitely be back soon!

I must say, Baton Rouge has finally got a decent BBQ place in town, which has always been lacking. Growing up smoking meats in my Oklahoma Joe smoker with a side firebox and smoking chamber has made me appreciate good BBQ, which this place definitely has. After talking with the chef after walking in, I find out he’s also from Texas, and after tasting the pulled pork and chopped brisket, I knew this place definitely has a future in BR. Not only is it great BBQ compared to other places in town, the brisket is the best I’ve ever had, besides my own, of course.

My first visit so I had my “test” plate of ribs, baked beans, and greens. I was impressed.

Nice place. Went here on a whim with a customer. Got the tater and beans. Customer liked their two meat plate. Tater was good. Beans were a little weird. Had peanut butter in them, if they hadn’t mentioned that at the registers I would have never guessed.

Good: environment is great. Service prompt and friendly. Sweet and spicy and Unleaded sauces were really nice. Leroy’s Juice in the frozen machine hit the spot. Spoon bread and collards were good
