My phone was broken and as a U of U student, this meant that I literally couldn’t do anything. I went up to the lady tapping people in and asked if she could type in my U id. I told her three separate times, yet my U id for whatever reason wouldn’t show up and she told me to leave, straight up. She just said “leave.” Nothing else. I then got my roommate to tap me in instead, and I hoped the problems would be over, but no. I need A PHONE TO ORDER. I tried talking to one of the workers at the American Kitchen and she didn’t speak ANY ENGLISH and literally just GLARED AT ME. She glared at me. You can’t make this up. She was repeating something over and over in a different language while glaring at me. What? I eventually went back to the lady tapping people in, trying to explain the problem, but she said “oh you need a to-go box?” What? A to-go box? WHAT? Eventually some other worker, I think the manager but I don’t know, finally helped me order with his phone and I was finally able to eat my darn pulled pork sandwich. Was it worth the hassle? No. A few days later, I noticed one of the workers kept mistaking me for a worker, BECAUSE HE’S ASIAN LIKE ME. HE LOOKS NOTHING LIKE ME. SHE WAS JUST RACIST. Unfortunately, I HAVE to eat here because I am a U student. I really don’t have a lot of reliable options. What a story. Please don’t make anyone ever go through this again. I wouldn’t wish this upon my worst enemy.

This place is going downhill by the day. It’s like the soviet union in the 80s! If you get there within the first hour, you’d find something, any later than that, not much left!
The food is becoming worse and worse in both quantity and quality. They try to make it look fancy by going digital, but it’s just a sugarcoat for restricting food availability to the students and cutting their expenditure.

You never get exactly what you ordered, the food is either burnt or barely cooked, and you end up waiting forever. Some days they only offer five options total.

The PHC is bad enough that it’s a running joke among students. My suitemate got food poisoning multiple times. Some guy told me he’d heard a PHC cook say “5 second rule” and pick the food back up off the floor, and even though that probably didn’t actually happen that’s illustrative of what we all think of the PHC.
Their food is greasy, the lady with the bright lipstick who lets you in is scary and will get really pissed if you forgot your UCard (I forgot mine on my first day at university), the cooks aren’t friendly, and the dining hours are super restrictive for college freshmen, who generally don’t have the most standard schedules.
Plus, the meal plans are prohibitively expensive if you’re paying your own way through college (about 3000-5000 dollars) but you are required to have one if you’re in the freshman dorms.

The hours are terrible, no one wants to eat breakfast at 10:30 on the weekends. The quality of food is significantly worse than at Kahlert although the meal price is the same. There’s almost no grab-and-go options which is a huge inconvenience because wait times for food can sometimes be half an hour, which negatively affects busy students. Do better.

We came as visitors. Food looks decent but the place is run by qr codes. Each person ordering must have a device and main entrees can only be ordered every 30 min. The AMT of food available as all you can eat was some pizza, limited salad bar items and potstickers and rice. The other items on the grill include gryo, hamburger, hot dog chicken nuggets , pasta and sandwiches but can only be ordered 1 item out of all these things every 30 min . If anyone in your party does not have a phone they will not be able to eat much. We had to absolutely beg to get an extra hamburger because we only had 1 phone for 3 people. If you are a student with a lot of time for one entree every 30 min this may work for you but for anyone else and especially if you don’t all have phones..it may be a big disappointment.

Have gotten food poising multiple times from uncooked meat. Food varies from ok to absolutely inedible. The times are ridiculous. Why is it just not open all day long? Especially on school days. If you’re moving into heritage and thinking of getting one of the high up meal plans just don’t. Save your money.

The food at the PHC is really not good, if you eat there you will be eating Pizza and yogurt every day.

Everything is always dirty and the tables are always gross. The dishes usually aren’t washed properly. It’s a frustrating process to place an order and when you finally put it in it takes way longer than it should for the kitchen to make it. Waste of money and time.

Basic, not good food. Chocolate milk machine was dispensing something disgusting. Not family friendly. You have to wait 30min to order anything else, so not buffet style. No parking.
