We did not have to wait for seating.
Our waitress was absolutely amazing and so patient with us with two kids…
She made sure that the youngest had food early so that he could eat while the rest of us were waiting on our order.
The food always comes out so hot and delicious! Everything tasted great! Fresh and yummy!
We always like to get dessert and that was the grandkids’s favorite part (:
The only hiccup was a bit of a wait (about 5–10 minutes) before our server came by to take our drink order. Once service got going, though, he was attentive and checked in regularly.
We started with the tableside guacamole — fresh and delicious — followed by cheese enchiladas and the soft taco plate with fajita chicken, pulled chicken, and beef. Everything was flavorful and well-prepared.
Overall, it’s a great spot for either a cozy date night or a relaxed family dinner.
Bonus tip: Happy Hour runs Monday through Friday from 3–6 p.m., and if you arrive around 5, you can snag half-price drinks!
Homemade from scratch just like the name says!
Started with a FANTASTIC AUTHENTIC queso that’s made properly so it doesn’t seize up on the drive home – or at all til it hits the fridge. Guacamole second to my own only that is to say, “DY-NO-MITE!” We also ordered a pint of the salsa they serve with their chips and THAT was a great buy! So great, mild but still with a little bit of spice on the finish.
The cocinita pibil enchiladas were pure perfection as were hubby’s cheez enchiladas – choice of salsa con carne, red chile or tomatillo salsa on top of the cheezers; the cocinita pibil served with tomatillo salsa as they should be; both served with rice & beans, sub all rice or all beans.
We also each ordered tamales, being under a time crunch before Uncle Julio’s closed and not sure exactly what we wanted. We both chose pork over chicken and hubby with a sensitive tummy to spice went for the red chile sauce on the side and I chose the salsa con carne atop mine with a side of red chile salsa for hubby … it was too spicy for his delicate tummy but the chip salsa was PERFECT.
Best Mexican food I’ve had in Oklahoma and probably at all since leaving Baja 5 years ago. Can’t recommend it enough and the staff provided EXEMPLARY service: especially Gustavo, who had problems with the kitchen phone and couldn’t hear me hardly at all but I’m very grateful that he stuck with me and hung in there because it was our first time eating Uncle Julio’s … but it won’t be our last.
Thank you Gustavo and thank you Uncle Julio’s!
A young man by the name Diego waited on us. He was very professional, polite, very knowledgeable and courteous.
Whenever we had a question or concern, he sprung into action and took care of things.
We had a live table side Guacamole and Margarita, the lady that made it, was amazing. She made the best one so much so that we are already planning on going back.
The whole experience was great.
