The food of this family run business is so delicious! This won’t be our last time coming by. We loved the exclusive nigiri (wagyu from Japan and buttery ‘Oforo’ Bluefin Tuna belly). The Tiger Roll with the addition of citrus was a surprising delight.

Excellent food, service & atmosphere. Fish was really fresh, the Miso Cod was cooked to perfection, the poke & Seared Ahi salads were really well done with tasty sauces, and the baked mussels were also just right with a very tasty bbq-style sauce. Recommended.

Really impressed! Food was beautiful and tasty. Really glad they had ramen bowls. The prices are slightly higher than places in Medford but worth not driving.
What stood out the most is attentiveness and personally of our server.
The booth seating is in desperate need of replacements, but otherwise the atmosphere is very welcoming.
I calculated prices to be about 30-50 a person depending on how hungry you are.
Addendum: 12/19/25. We visited again and though the service and food is outstanding, this is the second time the bathrooms have been disheveled. It’s very frustrating when you cannot cleanse your hands before eating a pricey meal and even more so when it’s brought up and ignored. Ownership, please address this issue.

Dinner here was so good! We made a reservation, but ended up showing up 20 minutes early, and we were met with only a 2 minute wait! I noticed other groups had longer waits, so I recommend making a reservation. We got the Shrimp Tempura roll, Philadelphia, and the Spicy Kani. All 3 were very good, and dinner was very reasonably priced, about 20 dollars per person with drinks! The atmosphere was very nice, and our server, Andrew, was super kind to us, and helpful!! An amazing experience, and I would definitely go again.

I’ve tried all the sushi restaurants in Ashland and this one is by far the best! Probably the best in the valley including Medford area. They’re entrees are fantastic as well. All the sushi rolls we got were fantastic and the Curry katsu chicken is amazing too.

I had the pleasure of dining here the other day. I may not have the refined taste and knowledge of all fish in the world, but I can safely say this was the best fish I’ve ever eaten in my entire life. I ordered the nigiri sampler and was astonished by the fact that each fish was more impressive than the last. Next, I asked for the chef’s recommendation of the special, and I was given the most delicious salmon I’ve ever tasted. The cherry on top that really made me appreciate this place and it’s wonderful staff however, was that just as I signed the check and was preparing to leave, the head chef called out to me, and presented, free of charge, what he called “the best, highest quality fish we have”, and it certainly was. These wonderful people pay good money for their fish, and it shows. I wish them all the best, and I will certainly be returning in the future. Much love to such a wonderful establishment.

Good quality fish. Had the 5 piece sushi sampler, avocado bomb (highly recommended), spicy tuna (wished they Julianned the cucumber), and Crunchy Tiger Hidden Dragon (a little light not as heavy). Wife had Mongolian Beef which was good flavor, a good different spicier twist than I’ve had before, and tempura.

Me and my family got done watching a concert and decided on sushi and came here and its usually is really good and the service used to be super quick mind you we haven’t eaten here in 2 years so obviously the restaurant has changed? and this time the service was really slow we had to ask for a lot of stuff our drinks to forever to even be made and it was just me and my family for a like 20 minutes. there where no other customers in the restaurant for a good minute. The food was okay it was very bland for one and two it seems like the workers didn’t know what they where doing either? So something definitely has to change because it used to be better before but now it’s definitely gone down hill. The alcohol drinks that we did order was good and that’s the only good thing from stopping me from leaving a 1 star review.

Hands down the best sushi place in the valley. Beyond the incredible quality of sushi you get you just can not beat the prices for the quantity you get. I got the spicy tuna combo which was three rolls for $18. That is $6 per roll & a filling combo with a delicious spicy Mayo sauce over the top. The servers are always welcoming and the sushi chef’s are incredibly fast with their preparation of your rolls. My wife and I always come here for Sushi even if it means a 36 minute drive for us the quality is just too good! Also, Monday’s they have a 20% off all of their rolls special! Can’t beat it!!!

I couldn’t be happier with our visit. The food was mouth watering and delicious! The presentation of the food was portioned beautifully. What really made our experience great was the staff were kind, attentive, and sociable. It was a fantastic meal and I recommend Umami to all.
