How do you, as a zoo in Oakland, not have diverse plant based food options? There was a salad and fries, they were sold out of a vegetarian burger. Don’t expect much, just an FYI for future potential customers, and the kids meal chicken tenders is one chicken tender.

We have a membership and come all the time. It’s a great place for our 3 year old. You can take the team to the top of the hill for one of the best views in Oakland and sit down and have a burger or coffee. The park is nice. Lost of animals and lots of space. Can be busy on the weekends so get there early or a bit after noon when the kids go to nap. They always have. Special events as well. Definitely an Oakland gem.

Food decent but slow and waaaaay over priced. $32 for a sandwich, milk, fries, and 2 chicken tenders. $5 for a Coke. Insane. The chicken salad was good, but bringing lunch next time.

For the amount of money you pay to eat here you would think that they would serve better quality food. It never has been very good and post-pandemic is downright terrible. You can choose between a bad burger a bad cheeseburger a bad veggie burger and a bad hot dog. Fountain drinks are closed so you have to take one from the freezer. Don’t be fooled by the one that looks like it has an orange on it it’s merely a can of carbonated water that sat on the shelf next to an orange.
