Hidden jam in Dublin GA!!

Visit this place during my business trip in Dublin ga.
The place is in a residential home out of no where…

Service is full of southern hospitality!

As for food,
Blooming onion is good

Their steak is fantastic!
Chef knows the temperature very well !!
I had the ribeye and it was dead on medium rare!

The only reason it’s a 4 star is because some of the dishes is too salty especially grill vegetables..

I would try to go there again next week and ask them if they can go easy on the soy sauce and salt… and I might change to 5 stars

But it’s definitely my goto place in Dublin for steak for sure!!!

Update….
~~~~
Came here two weeks in a roll…
Steak as good as last time, they did easy on salt as my request and serves is great!!!
If you like the Tbone or bone in ribeye … recommend to come as early as possible!
A hidden treasure. This little old house changes into a 5-star restaurant with a touch of history once you walk through the front door. It was one of the absolute best steaks I’ve ever had. Cooked to perfection and seasoned to make your taste buds dance through every bite.
Unfortunately Iean toward 3 stars, but I’ll give the average of the three categories (food, service, atmosphere? Atmosphere is pretty cool. I really like their ceiling and eating in an old house. Service was 4 stars because they failed at delivering our food at the same time. Two of us received our dinner plates and the other 2 plates came out 5 to 10 minutes later. The appetizer was good, but the rest of the food was okay. Not much flavor in the stir fry chicken. It was disappointing .
This place was average at best. The food was good, but for the price we actually expected better. There were four of us in our party. My wife and I ordered water to drink, and we had to have our waiter replace our glasses as the rims around the entire glass was sticky. The stickiness had the consistency of PostIt Note adhesive. I’m not too particular about flatware, dishes etc. but this had me seriously wondering how clean everything in the kitchen was.
I ordered the fish and chips dinner. It was OK. My wife ordered fried shrimp with potato which she enjoyed. Our friends ordered steak and stired fried chicken.
My wife and I got our plates several minutes before our friends did. It was dissapointing having to watch our food get cold while waiting for their plates to arrive.
Great cozy atmosphere where everyone there was friendly.
Big shout out to our waiter Jace, who was working hard to take care of his tables.
Decided to try a new place (new to us). We arrived just after dark on a Thursday at about 7:30. The “parking lot” had several cars but if it weren’t for that we wouldn’t have known it was open. There were no lights on at the entry way and we really had a difficult time navigating the steps. Once inside, the atmosphere is cute and welcoming. The restaurant wasn’t crowded and the service was somewhat slow but we weren’t in a hurry. We placed our order for an appetizer; we ordered the blooming onion. It was pretty good though towards the middle of the onion, the batter wasn’t cooked and was gooey. Overall it was still good. For our meal my husband ordered surf and turf with a loaded baked potato and house salad and I ordered the Cajun salmon and shrimp with a sweet potato and salad. The food arrived before we got our salad. The salmon was a filet and somewhat overcooked and my husband’s steak was ordered medium but was more like rare. Overall, we weren’t impressed and would probably not return.
On 09/14/24, my spouse and I visted this restaurant. We were hopeful it would be good based on what we saw online of the menu and some pictures of the food. We were not disappointed. The food was some of the best we have had in a LONG TIME. Our server (Kerri) was beyond great. She was fully attentive to our needs, answered our questions right away, kept our drinks full, and was like family as we ate. [Side note, Tumpie’s you have an outstanding server with Kerri). The gator tail appetizer was some of the best around (not chewy, tough, overcooked, etc like some places can do). Our steaks were cooked perfectly (which is usually rare to find). The atmosphere makes you feel like you’re eating the Sunday meal with family. I would HIGHLY ENCOURAGE ANYONE who is thinking about trying it out, DO IT! You won’t be disappointed!
Dine in.
Took my wife for a Birthday dinner , we arrived earlier than expected ( drive was shorter than expected) we happened to be 1st customers.
Cordially greeted & a waitress waited on us quickly,
Ordered our beverages & the fried green tomato appetizer .
Then a new waitress appeared to take our order . When questioned about the menu items , she stated she was new & didn’t know any about the food. We placed our order after 2 trips back to the kitchen to get our questions answered.
Beverages arrived as did the appetizer plate.
( Delivered by ,yet another waitress) Only utensil provided was a fork , no small plates or knives provided to divide or cut the fried tomato’s. When requested, 1 knife was delivered (Appetizer was very good by the way)
The main course was delivered by (new waitress) my wife’s meat item was extremely salty & gravy served was obviously out of a jar.
I ordered the beef shish kabobs ‘ a side of Asparagus ( meat order medium rare)
Kabob vegetables were overcooked “ the Angus “ beef
Was dry , tasteless & the toughest cow in the yard.
The green crisp Asparagus expect was not served as a “Side”, but as some dried yellow tasteless topping on my kabobs.
We were honest when asked about our experience, & our main meal items
Credited for by 50% appreciated, but not expected.
Suggestions:
Educate / train your waitresses before subjecting them to your customers ( the life of your business)
Improve the quality of items served,
If it’s delivered to the customers table & looks unappealing before First bite & the bite confirms first look . YOU LOSE!
I can alway go elsewhere.
We really enjoyed Tumpie House for dinner tonight. The rustic beauty of this cozy house makes the perfect setting for a delicious homestyle meal. Our colossal prime rib was seasoned and cooked to perfection. Everything from the greeting by our hostess to the excellent service provided by our server was professional and precisely timed. We’re so glad a friend and colleague recommended Tumpie House to us. We had never heard about this wonderful place before, but now we’re going to tell others about our experience here. We’ll be back soon, and we’ll bring others.
It’s in an old nothing fancy house decorated old items from life from your past and beyond, which makes it a charming country life history museum in itself.
The staff was very attentive there and seemed to really appreciate you coming out to dine with them. The food was delicious and served in generous portions.
It’s definitely worth the drive through the country side no matter where you are coming from.
