I’ve been lucky enough to try this place out 2 times already and the food was great each time! The music/ambiance gives this place a nice vibe and the older gentleman who seated us was so kind–he greeted us with a handshake (so uncommon at restaurants, but such a kind gesture that makes you feel welcomed.) The waitress was super nice as well and made great suggestions both times. The 1st time I went was a Friday night with a group of 7 people and it was packed. The restaurant had just opened a few days before, so I will say that at that time, the drink and food service was slow, BUT the food and drinks were still delicious and worth the wait!! The 2nd time I went, drinks and food arrived quickly! I’m looking forward to try this place again soon!

So I and my boyfriend went here for the first time last night for his birthday as you walked in the place was very well decorated and was really pretty inside they didn’t have any booth seats so they suggested the bar in the front or a table in the way back a table for two high table so we chose to sit at the high table in the back The service was really bad they hardly paid any attention to us in the back the people that were up front and booth seats were catered to waitresses walked right past us and didn’t ask us if we needed anything or the service was just really bad The food was great and the drinks were a 100%. I will definitely go back for drinks because that seemed to be the only thing that came to us on time as it came to checking out and getting my check to leave It was about 30 minutes to a 45-minute wait I had to eventually get up and ask somebody to help us out with leaving then I ordered a dessert to go and it end up being the wrong thing and they had to remake it and that took another 10 minutes hopefully this changes as it is a new restaurant and they just opened but I would suggest some chips and salsa at the table serving before we get our food and I asked for a glass of water and received just water with no ice in it…. And for the price that we paid for the drinks and the food I expected service to be a lot better If they want to keep in business… Pricey

Inviting atmosphere, beautifully decorated, tropical, well lite, well variety of dishes, kids menu avail, breakfast, lunch, & dinner, fair and pricey dishes, music is loud & playing fun Mexican favorites, free chips & salsa, staff spoke English & Spanish, are friendly, and attentive with the guests. Originally, we heard Tulum having a brunch option with mimosas. They do have mimosas, no flights of mimosas, cafe de olla is avail, but no buffet brunch. I came with friends for a late breakfast. I ordered the peppery poblano omelet, friend 1 ordered the all meat omelet, and friend 2 had their french toast breafast. My plate was bomb. My friends were not impressed. Meat omelet was meh. French toast lacked the egg batter and was on the dry side. We plan on returning for dinner & drinks and see how things go.

Great service from the entrance host to the waitress at the table
I will definitely come back to try more of their other dishes
The tinga tostadas
The ribeye steak with shrimp was also good but the steak sizes here do come less thick than other restaurants i am use to going for steaks
But over all everything was good

They may be working out the kinks since they recently opened but there was a lot of misses with Tulum Mexican Kitchen.

My Wife and I ordered the following:

Drinks-agua minerales preparada. Refreshing but in my opinion a bit expensive at $8.99.

Appetizer-Chicharrones with guacamole. What a bust! The chicharrones we’re not crispy and we’re cold. The guacamole did not have any lime flavor or salt. You get about ten chips with it. The chips were also undercooked. Not worth the money at all.

Entrees-chicken tinga tostadas. My Wife said they were ok with not much flavor.
Chicken mole started with a sweet taste then turned bitter. It was ok not too bad.

The waitress brought out our appetizer and my Wife’s entree at the same time. My entree did not come out for another ten minutes afterwards. Their timing is off here. Other tables were receiving their entrees at separate times as well.

It was busy when we were there but I think that won’t be long unless they change some things.

We arrived about 2.5 hours before closing time with barely anyone there so wait was not experienced here. Celebrating mine and 2 other family members. We received our cocktail drinks right away which were delicious along with our beer drinks. Ordered when everyone was ready. Food came out surprisingly at a perfect time less than 20 minutes. All our dishes tasted amazing so whichever chef’s was working tonight 1/17/26 great job everything was cooked perfectly. Our waiters Sophia and Rodolpho were great hostess and made us feel comfortable and welcome and never rushed us to leave given we arrived pretty close to closing. They even provided a fun mini birthday baile chant with a shot and desert at the end. We will definitely be coming back.
Food and drinks were a bit on the higher price but worth it at least to our group it was. Tip/ tip percentage is automatically added to your bill when it’s I believe 4+ people so don’t be surprised . The place has been renovated and has a beautiful boho clean look to it as you walk in, very enjoyable atmosphere.

I am writing to share feedback regarding a recent dining experience at this restaurant on {12/28/25}. This was the first time my family, friends, and I visited, and unfortunately, it was highly disappointing.

The quality of both the food and the customer service was extremely poor. We waited an hour for our order, and when it arrived, the food was cold and lacked flavor across all dishes. Furthermore, the meat was burnt.

What made the experience unacceptable was the automatic charge of $40.00 for a tip, especially considering the extensive wait time and the quality of the meal we received.

We found the service and food quality to be severely lacking. Due to this experience, we will not be returning to your establishment.

We had dinner here for the first time. We had the enchiladas, quesabirria and 2 kids meals. The drinks were delicious and the food was as well. The service was friendly and attentive. Our server informed us she was new but we couldn’t tell by how she handled herself. The vibe is very nice and spacious. We will likely come back again

Tried Tulum and it lived up to most of the hype. The chili rellenos and enchiladas were actually really good—well cooked and flavorful, not sloppy or bland like other places we’ve tried. Seemed like they actually cared about presentation as well. Service was friendly and attentive, and the interior is clean and nicely done. I would recommend.
