This restaurant is located in the Mission District, so parking may be an issue. The restaurant was clean and not busy, but take out orders were off the hook. Service was friendly, helpful and fast. My food was packaged in the ziplock containers which smelled delicious. Since I eat in my car due to work this Chinese food kept me warm and full. Definitely a Return Visit will be made!

I had a nice experience here and I’ll be back. I loved that they gave a complimentary tofu soup. The restaurant is spacious yet cozy. My Ginger Onion Beef dish was great! It also came with ride and a small salad. All <$12 before tip. I heard their veggies options are great, like the veggie orange chicken. I’ll be trying the vegetarian options next.

I’ve been enjoying Big Lantern for years now, and while it has had some ups and downs it’s still consistently one of my favorite neighborhood spots for Chinese. There’s a sizeable menu, with some dishes delivering more than others – skip the egg foo yung and try the spicy chow fun with smoked pork. Service is always friendly, and the food comes out fast and hot.

THIS is one of my top ten restaurants in the Bay Area and favorite Chinese restaurant. Because? They have a very rare, hard to find dish – Cold Sesame Peanut Noodle Salad. Can’t find this dish ANYWHERE else! And, the rest of their food I have always enjoyed. Don’t eat here often please, I don’t want a line wait! Haha

Sad that I have to do this because I really do enjoy the food but DO NOT ORDER FROM THEIR WEBSITE. The first time I ordered from their website, my card information was skimmed and an unauthorized purchase was made from my card. I didn’t think think much of it at the time as things can happen. A couple weeks later (yesterday) I ordered from them again, using their website, and my card was skimmed again and there was yet another unauthorized purchase made with my card. This is twice in a row with a few weeks in between and the only common denominator is their online payment portal.

I have been coming to the Chinese restaurant for years and it always delivers. Large portions of fresh tasty food for very reasonable prices. The lunch specials for less than $15 are unbeatable in SF.
