I’ve only had ramen from a few different places but this is by far the best I’ve had. Bursting with flavor and very high quality ingredients. I got extra noodles in mine but honestly it was probably a little overkill and most people will be plenty full without the double noodles. Service was fairly quick and friendly. I’d recommend looking over the menu before going to the location to have some idea as to what you want.

One of the best ramen in Boston specializing in Chintan (clear broth).

We had the Paitan Ramen, which is advertised to have a “RICH” chicken broth base (their emphasis, not mine). It was good, but not fantastic. The ramen smelled wonderful, and the base was very rich. But its richness was based more on fat content than complexity of flavor. After the first few spoonfuls, It truly needed salt to bring out the flavor, and without that, I recommend using the supplied Japanese pepper as a partial work-around (no salt shaker was provided at the table, only pepper). They do have Shoyu Ramen, which is soy based, but we did not try that as we were really interested in the “rich” chicken broth. Noodles were good. The egg was soft boiled in just water, which was different as it was not boiled with soy sauce, and the egg was a bit undercooked. The pork was spot on. The folk behind the counter were very friendly.

expensive, long waiting time and poor atmosphere with tight seats. Taste is nothing special, just average or even below. Not worth the price at all. It has long queues only because it’s close to Tufts

Really good ramen. Got the maze soba and pork shoyu ramen. They were delicious. The broth was flavorful and the pork was nice and tender. The maze soba doesn’t have a broth but rather a thick garlic sauce that’s absolutely amazing. On top of all that the staff were super friendly. It was great.

Came on an afternoon and were amazed at the ramen as we haven’t had good ramen on the east coast.

Broth was overly porky and oily, the egg had a lot of uncooked egg white, and was not marinated over night like is traditionally done. The chopsticks were cheap and broke in my hand when I picked up noodles, which had never happened to me before.

Great ramen place! No air conditioning, so it’s hot in the summer. Quality of the dashi and ramen is excellent.

Pricey but authentic and traditional shoyu or shio ramen or soba noodles in a chicken or pork broth (not consommé) served at a seated Japanese-style bar/counter.
