Very much hit or miss depending on the day. The pizza and continental breakfast options are always pretty reliable. Other than that it really just depends on what’s on the menu. They definitely are very inclusive and make sure to have gluten free, kosher, and other considerate options. Staff is always going around cleaning which is nice so your not sitting at a dirty area.

The staff here are very kind and seem to enjoy working with each other. It warms my heart to see. The atmosphere is quite nice if you’re a fan of cafés. The food can be hit or miss sometimes, it’s serviceable though. No real strong opinions of it. Some days you want seconds, some days you don’t wanna finish the first. Overall, I really enjoy it.

Summer Hours are until 1 pm (NOT 2pm). The website and a call to the admissions office told us the incorrect hours but the staff were so nice they accommodated our group that was there 30 minutes after hours. They cooked more food and it was great! I am not a big vegetable person but the green beans were amazing! Everyone in the group that ate them agreed. The manager even gave us cake and ice cream. Also, the place was very clean.

The eggs served during breakfast are always wet and taste horrible. The rice is not cooked fully and cracks in your mouth. 80% the chicken has no seasoning and again not cooked fully. The pizza section is the absolute worst, as soon as you pick up a slice, the pizza falls apart. The bakery is a positive

The food at true grits is jail food at it best. Today I ate the food and they were serving it was un cooked chicken and corn dogs on a Sunday. The lack of variety and flavor disheartens my mood. Every time I renter true grits, I know they have nothing to offer besides their pizza. But, they didn’t even pizza today and that’s I knew I need ti make this review because without their pizza their food is trash. The rice was crunchy and over all the meal was very nasty. I honestly did not pay 2,000 dollars for this. Please you guys need to change the menu and make the food more enjoyable because this is astonishingly upsetting.

It’s popular among students to hate on this place, but I find that most of the complaints are about the chicken or fish or whatever meat option is at the main bar. As a vegetarian, between the Halal section, the “Rooted” counter, the salad/cold pasta bar, and the pizza/pasta bar that sometimes has really good spinach pizza, I consistently find (or make) gems I haven’t tried before. The dessert bar is great, too — my non-vegetarian friends and I all agree that the rainbow chocolate chip cookies always hit. But I wish they had fruits other than cantaloupe and honeydew out more often since I am allergic to those.

Definition of mid-tier food. Nothing is bad, there are always a plethora of options, but nothing is particularly good either. Definitely worth the cost for a meal swipe, as it is buffet-style so the portions are technically infinite

Food rarely has flavor and most staff are extremely rude. They also give you small portions as if it isn’t supposed to be served buffet style. If you want to get full be prepared to have to get up 3-4 more times. Food is sometimes not even cooked all the way through. The only reason you should eat here is if you’re trying to gain weight and need to eat a minimum amount of calories. It’s really not even worth the meal swipe. If you can’t catch commons, admin, or Starbucks/chick at meal periods, this is your only option. The only saving grace is the late-night meal period here. Even that is hit or miss with the chicken tenders. Sometimes they’re all breading. I avoid coming here at all costs unless i want candy from the retriever market/ outtakes.

The selection is minimal. The Asian beef is not good. It’s very salty, just soy sauce. Good Asian food uses better sauce. I don’t eat dairy, so I didn’t try the pizza. Several soda syrups were out at the machine. Very disappointed.
