The gentleman who took my order was so kind and helpful. The Caribbean Cuban was the best Cuban sandwich I ever had! We also ordered corn sorbet and cotton candy ice creams. Also very flavorful. Over all such a welcoming place and delicious food! Will be back!!!!

Good but not life changing Cuban sandwiches. I ordered the chorizo Cuban and it tasted basically the same as a normal Cuban because there was a very small amount of chorizo added. I enjoyed the crispiness of the bread. I would prefer if they used chunks of roast pork instead of deli slices. There also wasn’t a ton of mayo/mustard, I would have liked a bit more. Sandwich was ready in around 5 minutes. There are better Cuban sandwiches in the area (Chica’s), but this place is still worth trying.

Listen very carefully I grew up in South Florida among the Cuban communities. I have traveled through the Cuban parts of Miami extensively and eating many many Cuban sandwiches in my many many days. Having now moved to North Central Florida in the city of DeLand I was concerned I would never find a good Cuban sandwich again. These fears were subsided when I discovered the Tropi Shack. This is by far the greatest Cuban sandwich I have ever had in my entire life. They have 23 different varieties of Cuban sandwich and I highly recommend that you try the one with the guava and cream cheese among the pork and turkey. It’s served on a Cuban sweet bread that will make your mouth water and your brain explode. I mean this in all seriousness this is the greatest Cuban sandwich shop between here and Calle Ocho. Hands down winner winner Cuban sandwich dinner.

I love the bright, tropical décor and the fact that they offer entertainment for the kids. I ordered the kickin’ chicken sub with potato salad, and my spouse got the grilled Cuban with black beans and rice. His sandwich was delicious, and the black beans and rice had a unique, sweet flavor but were also good. I have one question for the sub: “Where’s the meat?” It’s one slice of chicken deli meat, not a piece of chicken breast. The bread and veggies were all fresh, but there was barely any meat, and the potato salad was store-bought.
So, stick with the grilled Cubans and flan is my advice.

There are so many options for Cuban sandwiches and gazillion ice cream options!

Very cozy, friendly atmosphere . We felt like we were in our friend’s home cum shop…very warm welcoming atmosphere… Family Run business.

Outside seating was so off beat and so refreshing than commercial options. It was a lovely change.

The most authentic, and flavorful food! The portions are generous, the place is immaculate, and the service is better than any formal restaurant. You can can tell by the quality, this is a closely held family run business where they prioritize quality, taste, and service over any corporate chain. I will be a frequent/repeat customer!

50% of the time you will be turned away. They close every other day. Random. The food is acceptable but the inconvenience of them closing so often.
My suggestion is find another establishment.
They used to be awesome. Now Ehh!

This place definitely has five star customer service, but three star food, so I’m giving it four stars. They definitely don’t have the “best Cuban” like family claim to, it was all right, but definitely not anything spectacular. As for the hot dogs, I’m not sure how they cook them, but they don’t really have much texture, they could definitely use with some char or grill marks. The hot dogs are also overly sweet, and I wasn’t super impressed with the size. I got the chili cheese dog, and the one with cheese and grilled onions, and either of these I could have made an entire batch at home with basic ingredients and tasted the same or better. I also got the pineapple sorbet and the passion fruit sorbet, but they were unexciting. Don’t get me wrong, it was okay food. Just nothing amazing. I love the atmosphere, the customer service, the whole vibe, but the food is average.

Holy cow this place is an absolute hidden gem! We got the garlic butter Cuban (#25) with cold slaw and the twisted Cuban (#8) with potato salad. The sides wete good but the sandwiches are on a playing field all by themselves! It would solidly rank in my top 10 food stops of all time.
