Came here specifically for the famous hot brown and it did not disappoint, it was awesome. I was hungry as I dropped by here between lunch and dinner time and almost had the whole place to myself. Sat at the bar watching sports on the tele. This place is larger than it looks. Would come again and order the hot brown.

I got the beer cheese burger, fries and the frost troll drink, my husband got the classic burger, chips, and the troll fashioned (so punny!) the food was solid, burgers were cooked perfectly, that beer cheese was delicious and the chips are crispy! The atmosphere was family friendly and the staff were super sweet. Overall we had a great time and happily recommend Troll Pub Under the Bridge to anyone looking for classic Ky food with a fun atmosphere.

Made reservations about a month ago. Think they would be able to put us somewhere better than right next to the server station. Arrived at 715 then seated. Asked if another seat was available anywhere, but was told not possible. Placed drink and app order about 15 minutes late. 20 for those to arrive, food order placed at that time. 20 minutes late did showed up. No additional contact except Bill on table about 10 minutes later.

Food quality was horrid. Only finished a few bites. Pot roast was l drenched in a dark brown salt gravy the Mornay sauce on the hot brown was funky. Both meals left unfinished. Wife have back the few bites she ate in the ladies room. Luckily I have the intestinal fortitude of a yak.

Even though almost full plates of food left when Bill was brought, I found it odd they never asked why, or if we wanted to take it with us.

A Louisville staple, this is a must-visit! While programming birthday shenanigans along the Urban Bourbon trail, I had an hour between distillery tours and a group of men whose hunger I had greatly underestimated. Already well-along the trail that afternoon, I sought a last-minute spot to get a large group of guys fed in a short amount of time. While I think it rude to suddenly appear at a bar with a large group, some already well-libated, and expect quick service, I was beyond thrilled by how well we were taken care of by the lovely staff. Making every effort to organize my goons and keep them well-behaved, we were fed and watered in time to make our next distillery stop. The food was top-notch pub fare and the drinks were expertly made.
Now I will always recommend having enough forethought to make reservations ahead of time when planning a trip to avoid such situations, but I cannot thank everyone at Troll Pub Under the Bridge for helping me out of a jam and saving me on my birthday. I made sure that, given the extraordinary service, I left what I considered an extraordinary tip – please remember to tip these hard-working people! I want to especially thank Carla (or Karla – I never got the spelling) in particular for her compassion in how she treated my drunken gang and me. You truly made my birthday wonderful and I cannot thank you enough! I look forward to the next time I’m in Louisville so that I can stop by the Troll Pub and buy you a drink 🙂

I had the Roast Beef Manhattan. It’s a Hot RB on steroids. The picture online does not do it justice. The gravy pills it all together. Pull apart roast beef, lumpy mashed potatoes, mushrooms and sweet onions make this a great meal. It is served with 2 full pieces of bread, which if ibwas to order again i would 86.

Everything on the menu looks great!!

Stopped in after a bourbon tour for some food. We got some insider tip information that this pub has a better hot brown than any place else in the city. Based on that fact alone we had to try it. We were not disappointed. The food was delivered quickly and the bartender was extremely nice. And the place had a really fun vibe. We will definitely stop here again.

This pub has the same character as Louisville itself. The generations of architecture is displayed, and the character of the troll is present everywhere. Definitely can have a great time with multiple friends and not feel cramped.
