This is the place to get a good lunch in Middleburg. The aesthetic is a bit apple store, but the chef and the service are excellent. AND on a nice day they have very lovely alfresco seating.
I’m generally very suspicious of ordering risotto at restaurants because is so difficult to do correctly. The risottos here are constantly excellent, which is a delight.
The pan con tomate never leaves the menu with good reason. Waiters are very adept with wine recommendations.

I can’t say enough about this place. We got a last min Resy on Friday night. Service was amazing. Very attentive, refills and table bussing was quick. The food… some of the best I’ve ever had. The James Beard Nom. Is well deserved. Everything was seasoned perfectly. The tomato bread was reminiscent of Tomato bread in spain. Tou could taste every element. The cooking of the Chorizo at the table was fun, then you taste it with the sauce… delicious. We will be attempting to replicate the roasted Broccoli at home, it was delicious. The Sea Bass ,again perfectly cooked and the soup. So delicious and full of flavor. Couldn’t resist tipping the bowl up to get every last drop. Drinks were excellent as well, the Naked & Famous was very good. Top notch wine selection too.

If you’re staying at the Salamander and need to change up the food, look no further than Tremolo. It’s small dishes that are fantastic. Would recommend the stracciatella, the lamb ragu and the Moroccan carrot salad. Both were fantastic. The staff was great and super friendly too. I started with a cocktail — a bees knees — and for my second drink switched to wine. The server made a great recommendation for a light red that went with everything.

We have been a few times and had great experiences every time. Limited small plate menu but nicely curated. I love trying new things, my husband is a meat and potatoes guy and we both are happy here. The staff is friendly and super knowledgeable especially on the wine list. The gin and tonic is fantastic as is the espresso martini. Also great for lunch.

Food and beverages were fantastic! My husband enjoyed several glasses of wine recommended by Joe who hit the mark each time and tailored it to our dishes. I had the gin and tonic which was one of the best I’ve ever had. Each dish was delicious. We had the scallops (favorite), lamb meatballs, tomato bread with anchovies and jamon. Great place.

This was a lunch so we didn’t get to sample the exhaustive wine list, but the food was anything but an afterthought. The sea bass was extraordinary and the carrot and mushroom dish arrived looking (and tasting) like a feature right out of a gourmet cooking magazine.
The service was top notch as well: attentive and generous without pretension or pushiness. I’d highly recommend them and am already planning a follow up visit.

Lovely atmosphere, lovely staff and fantastic food. We asked to be surprised with food & wine pairings( if you are a wine lover, the list is extensive!) The owner did not disappoint. Highly recommend this pearl on main street in Middleburg.
