Saw this place on Google and looked cool and the food sounded good. Came in Sunday morning, was busy as expected. The sign said Buffet Only all day, not taking orders off the menu. Not what I was looking forward to, but it’s okay, it would do. However when we get though the line up to the buffet, everything is empty or almost empty. Half the things listed on the buffet sign just aren’t there. Waited several minutes standing there and nothing brought out. Got what we could, not what we wanted. They would occasionally refill a few items and then certain customers would immediately come up and load their plates mountain high leaving not much for everyone else.

We are traveling for few days & stopped to get gas. He asked for lunch recommendation & was told this place was good. There were lots of cars so we went in. Trapper’s Kettle was so interesting. The wild animals were everywhere. So many & such big ones. They had displays honoring different trappers. Traps were displayed on walls. Very interesting.

Here’s the deal… My husband, dog and myself stopped in here for a bite to eat. The waitress was great, the food was great. While my husband finished eating, I went next door to the gift shop. My dog was being great, as per usual, not barking, on a leash. The gift shop (elderly) woman clearly directed the other employee to “watch her” me being the only person in the gift shop. Why? Because I have tattoos? Because I was breathing their oxygen? I’m unsure. She then started asking if she could ask if my dog was a service animal. No, Ma’am. You can not. I was continued to be followed, profiled and given snarky looks and comments. After taking my time, primarily to waste hers, I paid for the items in my hand and left. Definitely ruined my experience there after hearing all over bismark what a fantastic place this was.

Sorry did not get any pictures from my visit. It wasn’t exactly good but wasn’t bad. I was able to park a truck here in their huge lot. Entrance was a bit hidden, but just had to go through the car parking lot. I went for the cheeseburger with fries. Was acceptable. Added on the soup of the day which was a touch pricey at $3 or $4. It was bean and bacon. I haven’t had a pile of bean and bacon in my time, this one was just different than I expected. Not saying it was bad, just wasn’t my thing. Restaurant was huge and very well decorated. Waitress was very nice. Didn’t care for the coffee too much.

Arrived around 10:15am for buffet, there was a sign saying to wait ti be seated. The waitresses saw us waiting and didn’t say any greeting, after a while of standing there we asked if we should seat ourselves and they said yes. The service didn’t improve. Felt like an inconvenience for the waitress. The biscuits and gravy were the best item on the buffet.

Celebrating an Anniversary. Not much on the menu for NICE entrees just standard fare. No steaks at all??? Great food, enjoyed the salad bar and the atmosphere. Will eat there again, but not for any special occasions though.
