Trail Break Taps + Tacos is awesome!! Definitely one of the best restaurants in this whole area of Vermont and New Hampshire. This is the most Vermont-themed restaurant I’ve ever been to. When you walk inside you feel like you’ve transported to a lunch shack at a ski resort! There are chairs from chair lifts everywhere, trail signs, and other ski decorations everywhere. However, it doesn’t have just good decorations – the food here is excellent! Think of it as new age Mexican/American fusion. There are very unique appetizers, tacos, burritos, quesadillas, and many other foods that will satisfy everyone. Lots of vegan, vegetarian and gluten-free options available!!

Pretty solid Mexican food and lots of vegetarian options. We particularly enjoyed the starters – the elote (street corn) and maple plantains were great! The jackfruit tacos are pretty good too, although they could be a bit more seasoned, but I was very happy to see that option on the menu.

Food is cold or like warm and almost everything is burnt. Overpriced and tastes terrible. The only thing that tasted decent was a plain chicken and cheese quesadilla. Even sodas tasted off and bad. Service was nice but didn’t come often and messed up our order.

Great place with a nice spin on a friendly, free snack at your table when you arrive. The place comes with creative names for their tacos. Would definitely recommend the shrimp here. Trail Break is located within a quaint, picturesque part of White River Junction. The entire experience is worth a visit; go check it out!

We LOVE Trail Break and it’s always at the top of places to eat out! The food is excellent – best nachos in the UV hands down. Yes, sometimes things are slower than we’d like due to staffing, but they are upfront with that info when you walk in. And they keep their schedule up to date on Google, so we know when they are open – which I really appreciate!

I was there from out of town working last May 22nd around 730 pm, and wanted to enjoy what seemed to be a fun busy place but, after being seated at the bar, I waited for 15 minutes without one person acknowledged I was sitting there, not even “Ill be with you in a minute”! Strange experience for sure. Would have been nice to try the food but, rudest servers I have ever encountered. I left hungry and went elsewhere and had a hot meal in no time at all. I updated my review to cut them some slack.

We just had the worst experience here. It was a Monday night…we put our names in at 6:45p, were seated at 7:15p and then it wasn’t until 8:45p before we were finally served our meals. And this was after having to speak to the acting manager twice, and after getting an attitude from our waitress. We had to bring it to their attention to possibly comp us some chips and dip to munch on while we waited, because our kids were so hungry….which they did. But as the time went on and it was almost 9p, it was getting ridiculous. When my husband spoke to the manager, along with our waitress, calmly letting them know we were not happy with the situation, the waitress actually just walked away while he was talking. It was extremely rude. We were told they would give us a discount after all of this, but then only offered 10% off. By the time we got our food, all we wanted to do was just leave. We ended up taking it to go. We paid what they asked us to even though the whole experience was terrible. I can’t even speak to the taste or quality of the food since I was so soured by the whole experience that it didn’t even appeal to me by the time I got it.

So the food is very good, but while the staff is kind and friendly the service is very slow. We had experienced the food at a party that had such a cool food truck and the service was excellent. But the service was not the same at the restaurant. Additionally they were out of many things on the menu but didn’t tell us when we went to order. So far I would say if you need a party catered it’s perfect, but the restaurant experience is nothing special.
