We had wanted to try it since we first heard about it and thought Valentine’s weekend was the perfect time for a nice meal. It’s also amazing there’s finally an amazing Pan Latin restaurant in Pittsburgh where you can try dishes from all over Latin America from a well traveled chef from El Salvador.

Since we saw they had churros, we opted to skip the appetizers (even though they sounded really good) and have cocktails, entrees and churros. We were so glad that we did.

I enjoyed my pisco sour from Peru. We loved my husband’s raspberry mojito (Besito de mora). My skirt steak with homemade chimchurri was like butter. So tender and delicious! It made me happy reminiscing about my time in Argentina when I studied abroad there. My husband enjoyed his lomo saltado (filet mignon with stewed tomatoes, rice and delicious fries). The churros were so crunchy and cinnamony with dulce de leche (caramel) inside. The food was phenomenal and so was the service.

We’ll definitely be back to try other entrees, the appetizers and ceviche.

The food was amazing! Julio and his team were all on point. I had the 1/2 chicken with a side of mushrooms. It was perfectly cooked and delicious! The place is small so reservations are recommended. Parking is available and just a short walk. Everyone in our party was very pleased with the quality, taste and service. I highly recommend Torogoz.

A much anticipated restaurant in Sewickley. It did NOT disappoint!! Food was on point. Dishes from Latin America by Chef Julio. I didn’t get the opportunity to take pictures of all the food or drinks. I was just excited to eat it and forgot to take pictures. Beautiful clean decor. Lovely wine choices. I love the names of the drinks, they made me giggle. The waiters delivered great service. I was surprised to see the amount of choices in the menu. Excited to return and try more items. Great job chef.

Torogoz is an amazing restaurant. Best dinner we have had in the village for sure. The vibe was modern yet cozy, and our server was very sweet. She basically explained the whole menu to us and gave us some good recommendations as well. Love that it is a family owned with one of the owners being a chef.

With the menu inspired by roots in latin america, and with a mother and sister helping out with one (or more?) of the dishes, we had a feeling it was going to be a good night. The ceviche was delicious and the branzino entree was on par (probably better) than anything i’ve had at Monterey Bay in mt warsh.

Will definitely be returning. Must check it out if you haven’t already. Support this local gem!

Torogoz offers a unique dining experience with Argentinian-inspired dishes that are beautifully prepared and full of great flavor. The food itself was a highlight — from the appetizer to dessert, each course was well done. We also appreciate that they’ve added something different to the Sewickley dining scene, rather than another Italian or pizza spot.

That said, the service side left room for improvement. We were asked by the hostess to wait about 4 minutes for the kitchen to “catch up,” even though several tables were open. Not quite the warm welcome that you expect from a fine dining establishment. It would have been nice to be seated and at least start with drinks, which also represented a missed opportunity for upselling on their end. Overall, the operational flow felt a bit unpolished as guests experience should not be impacted by an internal kitchen operation issue.

Our total came to $170 before tip for two drinks (with a “custom cocktail” priced $4 higher than the regular), one appetizer, two entrées, and dessert. While the food was great, overall the pricing felt about $20 higher in total than what we would expect for a similar dining experience.

Torogoz has just opened, and we’re hopeful these early service and pricing issues will smooth out over time. We’d be open to giving them another chance down the road, especially given the quality of the dishes.

This is my first time experiencing Torogoz… very pleasantly surprise at the cocktail selection but what was very amazing was the authenticity of the cuisine… the skirt steak with chimichurri sauce was exceptional. This is a true find in Sewickley!

This little gem has authentic South American cuisine and an amazing ambience and table service. The owner Julio is super friendly and obviously passionate about his craft. We did a family style meal to taste a variety of the menu and everything was incredible. The variety of ceviches were my favorite. Bringing all my friends here!

So great! The food was amazing (the sauce with the yucca was insane), and the drinks were delicious and unique. The chicha and horchata are particularly incredible. Taylor took great care of us, and we will be back soon!

For starters, we had the chicken empanadas (Pastelitos De Pollo), tamales (Tamalitos Dual). The tamales were packed with a lot of flavor, especially with the salsa. The empanadas with the Guajillo sauce were good but pretty basic. Sides, we had french fries and green beans. Both were very good. Green beans had a delicious garlic sauce with a grilled taste. For entrees, we both had Branzino (Pescado Zarandeado). The fish was delicious, considering how well it was prepared and cooked to perfection. Grilled with 2 different sauces.
