I stopped in on a Saturday evening around 7pm while passing through the area. There was one person working tables, one person in the kitchen, and nearly every table filled. I didn’t see any other bars/restaurants that looked like a quick place to grab some food so I decided to sit at the bar and place an order. The waitress/bartender was working very hard, bussing tables by herself, taking the orders, dropping off the food, refilling drinks, processing payments, and serving the bar. I waited about an hour for my food order that still hadn’t come up, so I decided to leave as my hunger and impatience got the best of me. Left a tip for the hard working bar tender, but there was no excuse for the under-staffing and hour long wait for a sandwich. Skip it and just go to Sheetz.

DO NOT GO HERE……the bartenders get drunk and start fights with anyone that asks for their check to leave, then inquires why an unknown signature is on the tab when they get it. On top of which condemning us for not leaving a tip on the check that we had not yet closed out!!……we simply asked about the situation when we were spit on by the bartender, put in a choke hold by two from behind, beaten from the back by others and physically assaulted inside and outside the establishment by nearly every staff member. There was no asking us to leave (which we already were), no respect, and of course no accountability. When the police came they were no help at all; cussing us, provoking us to try and continue the beating and haul us to jail for assaulting a police officer (btw it obviously doesn’t take much more than getting off a meth addiction to become one in Shepherdstown)…..this establishment and the police dept. are obviously in bed which each other.

My opinion of Tony’s is that it is a miserable little place that caters exclusively to certain types of college kids that just don’t care how filthy a place is as long as they are served alcohol. Also, don’t leave your credit card to start a tab, once you do and have any alcohol, your in jeopardy of paying for all the booze that the bartenders are drinking. If you choose to leave your cc for a tab and you notice something perculiar as you check out, just suck it up and pay the tab. Any attempt at getting an explanation will result in you getting rudely excorted out of the building for starting trouble. If you put up any resistance, the cops will be waiting outside to make some more money off of you, literally. They are uninterested in what you have to say, they have either pre-determined that anybody that is bounced out of the facility is a troublemaker or the cops are related to the owners. Now that I think about it, a lot of them looked like they resembled each other. Hmmmm.

Not sure why this place is only a 2.6 rating. We stopped here tonight after church. OUTSTANDING service and the BEST pizza and subs we have had in awhile. The atmosphere was even pleasing. We will definitely be making this a regular stop from now on. Thank you for wonderful experience!
