I came to Portland for work at PDX airport, and I absolutely love eating at local spots and always love to try ramen. Knowing the West Coast has amazing ramen is something I’ve always heard, and I wanted to find somewhere that does have that breakthrough for me.
THIS. IS. THE. PLACE.
Holy hell this shit is amazing, like woah. I’ve had a lot of ramen but nothing like this in sometime. I’ve started with the Leg quarter and uniagi skewers, amazing, absolutely dank and full of FLAVOR. Like so much in so many little bits. Let’s not forget the spicy mayo, so smooth, incredibly balanced and super tasty. Like a great starting point if you aren’t into it honestly. It’s that amazing.
Next the ramen it self. I got the sliced beef and chasu ramen. The portion is absolutely massive. Following they used Qual eggs instead of chicken ones, and you get 3! Their packed with flavor and taste so good. Not to mention the noodles themselves were very good, just the right amount of bite and density. Not overbearing and they didn’t get larger while they sat and everything was super flavorful. Everything seemed incredibly fresh, I’m not sure how to describe it besides coming to eat it. Many of the people there were there for my entire duration and longer, but so it’s somewhere that’s definitely in green for people to hang out and enjoy.
Lastly the overall size is insane for a ramen spot. I’m a larger fellow and I was struggling to get it all finished, would I come back 10x over. Will I rant that everything near me sucks, yes I will.
I highly suggest you come and enjoy a bowl and appetizers. So worthwhile and so good. Again the portion is huge and definitely worth the price. Do not hesitate to come by.
The staff is very nice, and were very accommodating with our one year old. They have high chairs and gave us a kid water cup. It is a bit tight on space, but it was fine since it was pretty slow when we were there.
They have a great drink selection, options for vegetarians, and the food presentation was incredible.
You order at the bar or front door so it’s not table side service but you’re still expected to tip which I don’t agree with.
Overall great spot for small group and large bowl ramen!
