Staff is friendly and fun, food is always consistently good. I don’t like mushrooms, and they accommodate my picky eater status. Plus there’s a drive thru window.

We haven’t been here in quite some time. I’d say about 4-5 years. We moved from Mooresville to Charlotte and now reside in Lincolnton. After having my car repaired at Randy Marion Chevrolet in Mooresville my wife wanted sushi and it was 7pm. She suggested Tokyo bc she always got it fresh there when we lived in Mooresville and the lady there was always so sweet. Upon entering we were greeted by Yusef who had the brightest smile and most awesomest customer service. He kindly said his sushi maker guy wouldn’t be back until tomorrow but apologized and quickly helped us come up with something else. He was very friendly and accommodating as well as great with his customer service skills. We found out through small talk he was part of the family by marriage and the sweet lady we talked of earlier in this review was indeed his aunt by marriage. He also told of us his Uncle establishment out by us in Lincolnton which we’ve heard numerous occasions is a awesome place too which we will definitely go! Please go see Yusef at Tokyo Restaurant! The food was great too even after my hour plus wait in traffic because of a telephone/ electric pole downed from the storms recently.

I have been going to this restaurant for years! They are hands down the best in the area. I will drive 20 minutes there and back just to have some of the best sushi you can find in the Rowan, Iredell, Meck, and Cabarrus county area! I highly recommend them!

I’m giving them 3/5 because the hibachi is usually delicious; however, we got sushi today and it was warm and very fishy. Probably a personal preference, but it was also cut into large pieces, not sushi-sized pieces you’d want to eat. I would have legitimately taken the Food Lion sushi over this. Aside from that, they provided 1/2 to 1 teaspoon of Wasabi for 4 rolls and the ginger wasn’t a consistent color, had brown harder edges so I left it. Daughter was pretty upset her Cali roll didnt have any crab/imitation crab at all. Pretty gross guys.

Ordered online for pickup. Took 45 to 50 minutes. They were friendly but short staffed.Willing to wait for good quality, but no. Tuna and salmon were fishy, rice had a sour taste, egg rolls were chewy.

Ordered last night for pick up. Fast, very friendly staff. Food was exceptional and you get plenty of it. Used to LOVE their lunch buffet but covid put a damper on that. Highly recommend.

Despite a Global Pandemic, Tokyo Japanese Restaurant kept its doors open consistently and for that…I’m extremely grateful. I’ve had a ton of sushi from places far and near but this is definitely one of my favorites. Great appetizers as well!! The staff is extremely friendly and quick. Once they finish their renovations, it will be an amazing experience to dine in. For now, carryout works just fine. They even have a drive thru window which is great during the rain or when you have the kids!! Go check it out!!

I will never EVER order from this restaurant again. We ordered sushi and all the salmon was bad. It smelt disgusting and had brown spots. That’s a complete neglect of safety and they are going to make someone sick! Absolutely disgusting.
