I think it’s called Story Bar and Kitchen now. Has a cool new decor inside. Not the norm. Dark, classy, old school, high back booths, bar, brunch. Stumbled on this restaurant looking for breakfast. Breakfast menu has good selection. I chose the simple breakfast- bacon and eggs bacon was nice thick cut and the eggs had the orangy colored yokes like pasture raised eggs do and nice butter and jelly for the toast. I want to try the Chili Verde plate next time. I recommend a try, the new remodeled inside is pretty cool, a little different for breakfast but still cool in my opinion. Food and service is fine.

Came with my partner on a Sunday afternoon after running abit of errands. She got a strawberry mimosa and I got the horchata matcha martini ( iced ) which was an excellent drink. Then for the food part I order the rib enchiladas which was 8.5/10 the salsa it was in was abit sour but nothing couldn’t handle which was great. Service was great! As well the place did get new owners which was inform but stayed the same just added their own little touch which was great!
Overall experience was excellent will def try it again when visiting once more

I saw Story on social media, and I decided to try it today for lunch. I ordered the short rib chilaquiles, and they were absolutely delicious. I will definitely be coming back to the tea side of the restaurant with friends.

This place is visually stunning. It is worth it to come for the decor and ambiance. The high tea was lovely but that was all. Pastries were low quality, fruit unwashed, sandwiches were good, but come on… High Tea with serve yourself TEA BAGS? And our server said “you can re-use the bags”…

Our waitress was friendly, but she did not know the food items she simply gave us a paper and said “it is on the menu”.

Suggestion: For $40/person please improve the bakery you buy from or hire a pastry chef? Wash your grapes. Train servers or hire those who share the beauty and whimsy of your beautiful story you are inviting us to share.

Story (formally Toast) is one of Whittier’s better spots for brunch with your friends on weekends. The food is fine, the service is great, and the decor (before and after the management shifted) is picture-perfect. This venue is known for the drinks and being that type of place folks go for cute photos moments of their mimosas. That hasn’t changed, and that’s fine❤️ But it was definitely a different menu before *Toast* became *Story.* Again… The food is fine, but I would list this as a trendy food selection rather than a fine eatery. We miss the old menu. But the new wall decorations are cute.

Came here because we heard it was delicious, however I think the hype is more for the gram than for the actual food. We ordered the Chilaquiles w/rib rye steak plus the country potatoes with cheese and and jalapeño along with a side of French Toast. Come and try it for yourself, but its a one and done restaurant not many reasons to go back. SERVICE – was quick and good, they just need to work on the food.

Today my husband took me to have breakfast at Toast Kitchen in Whittier. The place is very nice and I ordered chilaquiles with steak and eggs. The portion was big, but honestly, I care more about flavor than quantity, and in that aspect it fell short. Our server, Nina, was very kind and attentive, but I felt bad seeing her left alone to handle all the tables. Overall, the experience didn’t convince me.

Would I go back? No.

If you like eating whatever without caring about the flavor, this place is for you.

We had a great time here for brunch. We arrived at 10 on Sunday before it got too busy. We had a reservation but the wait time at that time wasn’t long for walk-ins as I overheard a lady being told it was a 5 minute wait. The food was delicious and I loved the cocktail I ordered: Champagne Poetry. I hope to go back to try more of their brunch cocktail selection. Service was great. Atmosphere was lively and beautiful. Plan to return here and definitely recommend.

I came here for a baby shower where there was a separate room for the mother to be and her guests. It’s a really nice place to host your party, service was great for a big party (hard to find nowadays) and the restrooms were really clean

Was surprised by how cute it is inside. Service was very good. We were promptly greeted and seated. Nice menu with quite a few options. Loved the unicorn lemonade!
I had the classic breakfast and it was great. We also ordered the French toast, and it was lacking a little flavor. Overall a good experience and we will come back!
