I came for a painting class on Valentine’s Day and it was so fun! Incredible the staff was so fun and vivacious. I love the story behind the establishment and it has such character. I highly recommend anyone coming in town stop by. They have great little amends, fabulous cocktails, and incredible food. I was lucky enough to an experience of painting that they did where you got to paint your partner for Valentine’s Day it was such a fun, unique experience. I can’t tell you how much fun we had and the food is out of this world. I will definitely be back.

I came here on a Sunday, just looking for something vegan to eat with my boyfriend. I saw this place had vegan options, so I figured, why not?
Best decision. They have a separate physical vegetarian menu, with explicit vegan suggestions listed:) It may need to be requested. I ordered a vegan carnitas bowl on a bed of rice/lettuce, along with chips and green sauce, and sat down outside.
It was a beautiful day, the vibes were so chill at this place, and my food was delicious. The chips and sauce came out first. They were thick, crunchy, fried to perfection, and the sauce really surprised me. It was spicy, just like salsa, but the texture was essentially whipped to perfection. Before I knew it, the bowl arrived. It was a heavenly mix of rice, lettuce, beans, a little bit of corn, all paired with well-seasoned jackfruit carnitas. I really liked the texture and flavor of the rice, especially.
Overall, I would say I found a new little gem. My boyfriend and I kept bringing up the relaxing atmosphere, exceptional service, and genuine goodness of the food. We hope to be back again soon to try the margaritas:)

Flavors were nice and rich and even in the steak you could taste the marination! Great quality and worth the money spent! Green Sauce was tasty and the roasted tomato sauce was superb!

It’s an amazing little spot. The food is way above average. One of the owners is also the owner of Mockingbird which is another amazing spot in midtown. It rustic and in an up and coming area so don’t let that distract you… the food and drinks are high level.

Really fun place! It has delicious food! All the tacos I had were simple but authentic and had plenty of flavor. The nachos had a delicious queso and the chips were perfectly crisp. I also had a great frozen margarita! It was strong but balanced. The happy hour menu had some great deals, so I highly recommend going between 3-6 PM Wednesday-Saturday to take advantage of them. They had plenty of room for various sized groups and allowed to go and pick up orders. It had two restrooms and a fun bar that singles/couples could easily sit at.

We have been wanting to try Tio Fun for quite awhile especially after meeting los Tios earlier this year. The taco meats were all extraordinary but we loved the al pastor the most. The beans and rice were well made (without any odd canned vegetables like many Mexican places do for some reason nowadays!!) and the tostada was great. But the Dogo Mexico was the star of the show for us. I’m a big fan of tubemeat and the big Mexican weiner does not disappoint!! We plan to return often to try the whole menu!

Tio Fun is a great local restaurant in the Buchanan Arts District!! The vibe is fun and friendly. The tacos are authentic! The meat is flavorful. They make their own homemade salsa. Everything is fresh and delicious. This is going to be our new go-to for Mexican food as it is that good! Highly recommend. And they have an amazing patio perfect for summer!

I had the carnitas, al pastor, and barbacoa tacos. The flavors were authentic, tender barbacoa, well seasoned al pastor; although, they were a bit skimpy on the cilantro and onions. Rábanos were not offered and I did not check the menu for them. Chiles toreados are on the menu though. The prices were reasonable and the ingredients were good. The tortillas seemed to be of high quality and of Mexican corn though I wasn’t able to verify. I had the michelada with Modelo Especial and it was delicious. They even had the game of Lotería which gives me nostalgia. I would definitely visit again.
