We’ve been buying fresh seafood from Timbers’ market for years and have always been thrilled with the quality—so we finally decided to try the restaurant for the first time tonight, and wow, what an amazing experience!
The atmosphere is so fun and welcoming—casual, lively, and full of that classic Sanibel island charm with its nautical vibe. Our server, Caitlin, was incredibly personable, attentive, and made the evening even more enjoyable with her warm service.
We all ordered the grouper, and it absolutely did not disappoint. Perfectly prepared, fresh, flavorful, and delicious—easily some of the best we’ve had. The portions were generous, and everything tasted like it came straight from the sea.
If you’re on Sanibel and love great seafood in a relaxed, enjoyable setting, Timbers is a must-try. We can’t wait to come back!

You will not leave hungry!!! The food was so good we went back the next night!!! Jersey was our server and was on top of everything! We will be back for sure next year and every year after. Everything was perfect. Try the fried shrimp and scallops or the crab cakes, best i have ever had!!!

Excellent Food and Service! We dined here with a family group of seven people. I had the filet mignon and it was probably one of the best steaks I’ve ever had. It was cooked to perfection and lightly seasoned. Everyone else in our party ordered some type of seafood entrée, and everybody enjoyed their meals. Staff were friendly and professional, from the hostess to our serve server, Jerzy. He was friendly, Professional, personable, and extremely attentive to our group. Thank you – we’ll certainly be back!

This place exudes character in its decor, starting with the bar, then continuing with the small fish market/display as you enter the restaurant itself. Food was great; we had the lobster tail and black grouper…both were excellent. A special thanks to Markie, our server, who gracefully accommodated some special dietary requests.

Timbers used to be consistently excellent but sadly appears to be struggling. Food is still very good but difficulty making reservations and extremely poor service made for an expensive holiday dining disaster for our party of 8.
Had to call back three times to get a reservation for Christmas week and cannot reserve a table online.
Our entree was brought out before soup and then soup was cold. Had to ask for condiments and drinks repeatedly and waitress reprimanded one of our party when she asked for more butter for her potato after it ran out. Waitress shared with us she was yelled at by her boss for forgetting our soup. She did not split the bill into 2 as she was asked to do in the beginning. We waited for lengthy amounts of time for water, sour cream, drinks, butter etc and quite frankly seemed to be in an altered mental state throughout our meal. Our bill was quite large and our service was one mishap after another for an expensive price. Disappointing experience!

We’ve been coming here for years when visiting Sanibel and the food is always consistently good quality. Definitely worth getting any type of seafood. It won’t be the best meal you’ve ever had but it will be good with a satisfying portion. Definitely make a reservation.

Was there with my husband tonight. The crab soup was very good. The rest of our meals were barely worth eating. It reminded me of an old restaurant that needs alot of help. Nothing was seasoned, very plain food. Our waitress was very nice so I appreciated her.

There’s a lot of great food on the island, but nothing beats the consistent quality, service, and over-all vibe of Timbers. I feel I have to mention how phenomenal Jerzy – our server – was. In my opinion there might be 3 other establishments with similar quality service. From someone in the industry, well done, keep it up.
