Carter Caves State Resort Park – Tierney’s Cavern Restaurant

1. Long John Silver’s (Grayson, KY). The plastic containers are terrible. · 2. Bayso’s Sports Pub (Grayson, KY). Love the cat fish at this place.

The food was generously portioned and very tasty. The buffet was kept full and fresh. The servers were friendly and accommodating to our group of 10. Love the squirrel feeders outside the window, they are amusing to watch.

The food was AMAZING! We had the server with the braces. Horrible wait staff. We waited for 15 minutes before our drink order was taken. There was one other 2 top table. Food took a while but worth it. Hostess was kind but our server was not. Oh, it was FREEZING INSIDE.

Wow, wonderful food, service, everything. We had large family gathering. Everyone agreed some of the best food, desserts and service we’ve ever had. A+ 5 star all the way!

Nothing fancy, but good. Decent salad bar and all you can eat dinner buffet the night we were here. Otherwise they have hamburgers, French dip, club sandwiches, and a couple of raps on the menu. More cafeteria food than Applebee’s, but good food if you’re staying at the lodge or camping and don’t want to cook.

The service was slow due to the staffing situation. We waited for 50 minutes for food that was untasteful. Basically frozen food that they heated up with expired/old vegetables on top. We asked for a refill on our waters which was actually soap water. Save your money and your appetite for a place that actually puts forth effort into their meals and service.

Bad service, the food was just awful, and it all took forever. My meal was the grilled chicken breast, vegetables mix, and side salad. Of the 3 items the salad was the best, after I removed the rotten tomatoes. The grilled chicken “breast” was waaay over salted and was just so small! I’m lucky that I ordered two because I would have left hungry. Vegetables were as soft as mashed potatoes. Neither the chicken or the veggies were warm.

Husband took my mom and myself to the Mother’s day Buffett. Food was excellent. Our server wasRose and she was wonderful. Refills when needed. The food staff was pleasant and helpful. No Strawberry and watermelon was scooped up early in the jn the meal. All the fruit was very fresh . We have been going there for 4 -5 years .

Delightful food. Catfish was cooked perfectly. Filets were of resonable portions. The state park restaurants have, thus far, had excellent catfish and splendid sides. They have never failed to satisfy.

Good food, homestyle cooking. Very friendly waitstaff. Nice, clean restaurant with gorgeous views of nature. Most entrees around $14/person. Delicious desserts! Buffet available for breakfast and dinner with lots of choices.

Completely unacceptable service! I was there with my family including 3 yr old terminally ill grandson. We specifically requested a rush on my ill grandson’s food asking if they could bring out even just the fries, as he is only 3 and due to medical needs could not wait long. Simple order. Chicken tenders and fries. We waited 50 minutes for fries for him. So long that he became too tired to eat. We would have walked out had we not been hosting the Founders and CEOs of a Foundation visiting from out of state and we were polite. Afterwards, even they said, they wanted to express their disgust and walk out. My other grandson ordered the all you can eat shrimp. When his food was delivered to the table, he requested another serving of shrimp. It never came, but was handed to him in a box to take with him after he asked multiple more times. When dinners were delivered, we were missing one dinner, which came much later. It took two hours to get in, get food, and eat. And, there were only four other tables being served. Drink refills were very slow to get, even water. We were in disbelief. The CEOs of the Foundation that were with us were disgusted and never plan to eat there again and neither does any of my family.
