We can’t comment on the accommodation side as we didn’t stay there, but as a restaurant, it was excellent. We stopped in for dinner and weren’t very hungry, so we just ordered starters as our main and it didn’t disappoint! The food was delicious, beautifully presented, and the service was lovely. Definitely a must-try spot when in Nelson.

Very poor food offering. The $90 sharing 3 choice of meats were overcooked and tough as leather. This chef needs to learn how to offer tender meat not boot leather. The scollop dish presented the world record for the most meager offering of size. Finishing strong though the vegetarian salad was exceptional and whoever concocted that combination is on the right track to be the head chef. You really can do better in Nelson that this food. Table by the river was very nice and peaceful

From the moment we walked in the door, I was surprised. There were six staff members on, yet it took around five minutes before anyone greeted us or asked how they could help. This left me feeling disgruntled, to say the least. At least the beer was cold, which helped improve my mood somewhat.
We then looked over the menu and all commented on the price of the food, agreeing that it would be worth it if the quality matched the cost. However, after ordering a side of chips that arrived drenched in oil so much so that we sent them back I became concerned about what the rest of the meal would be like.
I ordered the pork belly, a dish that is usually crispy, juicy, and beautifully cooked when done well. When my meal arrived ten minutes after everyone else’s, I expected it to be hot and flavourful. Unfortunately, when I cut into it and took my first bite, it was cold in the middle.
I was extremely disappointed that such an expensive meal fell well below my expectations. Given the $42.00 price tag, I genuinely expected a solid, high-quality dish.

Highly recommend this place the food is amazing and served piping hot! The staff are fantastic, very accommodating and always floating about if you need anything.

Front of house staff excellent, they did close the bar at 9.30 which was annoying as we wanted a night cap and a chat.

Food was absolutely delicious, I definitely recommend the Salt and Pepper Squid, and all the other food my party ordered looked and smelled amazing. atmosphere was great, lovely art everywhere, nice outdoor area, not too loud either. Definitely a bit pricey but its to be expected from a fancier place i suppose. Staff was wonderful and friendly and super quick. Definitely recommend this place.

Got there at 8, ordered food at about 805-810. Got our breakfast at 8:50. Our plates were hotter than the food and my spinach was more stalk than leaf. Plastic toy set outside for kids to make a racket. No one told us you were short staffed and there would be a long wait. We thought the chef was waiting for the chicken to lay the eggs or something. We wont be coming back.

A little bit disappointed with the grilled scallops on pork belly it was one scallop that had been sliced horizontally in to 3 pieces to look like 3 scallops. NZ and Japanese scallops aren’t that thin!
