Welcome to X Chicken Kebab! Our story began in the 1990s when Essy, the visionary behind X Chicken, worked at his family’s restaurant during his teenage years. His journey didn’t stop there—Essy went on to become a world karate champion, earning multiple national medals and gaining international recognition. However, his true passion lay in continuing his family’s legacy and creating delicious food. He then went on to establish his own restaurant with his wife Mali in Sacramento, where he has proudly served the community for over a decade. Today, Essy’s unwavering dedication and love for exceptional food and service continue to drive X Chicken Kebab.

Stopped here on the way home from hiking. Right off the highway. Warm welcome when we came in for lunch.
Menu is simple and straightforward. I got the combo kabob plate, no tomatoes. It was so tasty and delicious. Juicy meat, buttery rice, and big portion.
Shared a side of fries. They were basic as pictured.
Friendly and clean area. Felt pretty healthy too. Could get the kabob salad next time

We stopped in en route to Truckee & absolutely loved it! I had the chicken pita – the meat was tender, flavorful, and perfectly seasoned. My husband got the combo plate and it was generous, fresh, and delicious. Everything tasted homemade and came out quickly. The location is super convenient right off the freeway, and the owner was so kind – he even brought out a piece of baklava for us to try. Friendly service, spotless inside, and great food. Definitely recommend!

“I visited X- Chicken Kebab in Sacramento on my way back from Lake Tahoe. The food was good, the staff were polite, and the restaurant was very clean. However, I was surprised that during my visit, many customers—over 20 or 35—were told that they were out of food, which suggests they might not have been fully prepared. Despite that, I’m giving them 4 stars because the overall experience was great and it shows how good the restaurant can be.

Both chicken and beef plates we got were great. Even our picky eaters loved them. The service was great. They even gave us free desert! The owner is very friendly and makes the atmosphere very bright and fun. Turns out he is an Olympic medalist!

Besides the great and welcoming service and kind vibes of the server, plenty of free and easily-accessible parking lots, very fair pricing of the menu options, the calm and friendly atmosphere of the restauarant (esp. with the calming music being played in the background), the food quality was really awesome here. I had a chicken kabob plate which included the chicken kabob, plenty of rice, a delicious salad, two special yummy sauce dippings, plus a portion of tasteful hummus, the best combination I have ever had. I definitely recommend this place and will go again if I am around.

They sell a nice variety of familiar middle Eastern food and are very friendly with fast service. The lamb wrap I had was a delight and the iced tea was extremely pleasant. The other three people with me also declared their meals to be delicious.
