Absolutely superb! My son and I spent three nights at The Rose hotel, which is where The Thorn restaurant is located. We had breakfast there every day. The pictures are of the pumpkin french toast and the build your own omelette. Today, my son ordered the amazing tuna poke bowl with a mojito mocktail for his breakfast. The prices are also reasonable in this area of Chicago. The staff is amazing as well.

Came in for breakfast and had the Woodland Benedict. Poached eggs over roasted mushrooms nestled on a soft English muffin, covered in a savory truffle hollandaise. (It comes with caramelized onions too). Everything was cooked really well, and there was a great balance of savory and subtle sweetness. The potatoes were nice, too. Crispy on the outside, and warm softness inside. A little pricey, but filled me up and tasted delicious.

Amazing experience. Great service on a Christmas morning. Staff were all very friendly and welcoming especially being it was a holiday. The best Eggs Benedict I’ve ever had. Choice or fresh fruit or potatoes.

We decided to eat here before attending a show and we were NOT disappointed! The atmosphere is quiet and comfortable with attentive upscale service.
Since we had a long night ahead, we didn’t want to stufd ourselves, so we decided to order 4 appetizers. Let me tell you that the serving sizes are amazing and the appetizers were delicious! The surf and turf nachos can easily be a dinner for one person! The chicken wings were HUGE and flavorful! I wasn’t thrilled with the calamari as it was a bit greasy, but the Mediterranean plate was super tasty!
We had breakfast the next morning, and I would 100% take a pass on the oatmeal. It was Luke warm water mixed in with instant oatmeal. The Krasinski, brown sugar, and almonds saved the day. We also got a Greek yogurt dish with fresh fruit, honey, cashews, and flax seed that was large enough for 2 of us to share. I’d highly recommend that!

We did a training and team building event here in June. The room was perfect with a great view, solid door to keep it quiet and even privacy shades to help with the bright sun. The food and drinks were delicious. I must note, Michael, the manager was exceptional to work with ahead of time organizing the event and helping with some questions after the event. I highly recommend them for any meetings with your team or even a customer event. Thanks

Came to stay at the Rose hotel by Hilton for two days and really enjoyed the delicious options that the thorn restaurant and lounge had to offer. On the first day I had the delicious rose burger, which was well seasoned with a delicious bun and tasty fries. For breakfast I had the breakfast burrito which the big highlight there was actually the smashed red potatoes. While the burrito was not bad a probably will try something else in the future.
I would definitely come back for a nice meal!

Located in the Rose Hotel, same proximity as Dave and Buster’s and Trulucks. If the parking is full, just park in the huge parking lot across the street by Dave and Buster’s. When you walk into the hotel, the Thorn restaurant is to your right. The vibe is semi classy and intimate. It can also be a casual place to hang out, eat, and watch tv. Service was fantastic, they really take care of you over here. Prices are reasonable given the atmosphere. I had shrimp tacos, hemp hummus, and the Westcoast smasher burger. Pro tip: when you check in on Yelp, you get the hemp hummus for free. It was big enough to share with two other people.
-shrimp tacos 5 – these are good sized tacos. Easily shareable. The shrimp pieces were fresh and juicy. Shells were soft. Avocado pieces were large chunks. The corn tortilla chips were crunchy and did not break easily.
-hemp hummus 5 – fresh ingredients and warm naan. Very light appetizer.
-Westcoast smasher 5 – ordered it medium and it came out perfect. It’s a very clean burger. Your hands don’t get oily or greasy. Meat practically melts in every bite. Special sauce amplifies the flavor. French fries were crispy and they’re on the thinner side. Well seasoned.

I really enjoyed the meat and cheese platter, and the dessert was lovely too. The rice in my Poke bowl was a bit tough though. It tastes like it was left in the fridge for a while, slightly dehydrating it. Otherwise it was fantastic, all the ingredients were fresh and tasty!.

Incredible appetizers, amazing decor, fun drinks and great service. We stopped in on our way to the Chicago dogs game with the kids. We shared a few appetizers, and the kids loved their chicken & fries.
