This is easily one of the best spots for Thai food in San Mateo. The portions are generous, so you definitely get your money’s worth, and every dish we tried was full of flavor and tasted fresh. You can tell they really care about the quality of their ingredients. The service was just as impressive as the food. Everyone was welcoming, attentive, and made sure we had everything we needed without being overbearing. The whole experience felt comfortable and enjoyable from start to finish. I’ll definitely be coming back and recommending this place to friends.

As a Thai person, I have been trying to find authentic restaurant around san mateo for a long time and so glad I finally found it. I think they recently changed owners so the food got updated and now it is sooo good! The menu selection is very authentic and not something you find at usual Americanized Thai places. Love. Will come back!

Good Thai restaurant in San Mateo. The food was delicious, and the service was outstanding. Special thanks to the waitress who surprised me with a free dessert for my birthday. Parking can be a bit tricky, but overall, I highly recommend this place.

Absolutely loved my meal at Thanglor! The khao soi was rich and comforting, the spicy catfish had the perfect kick, and the pad Thai hit all the right notes—balanced, flavorful, and fresh.
Don’t forget to get the kaya toast the bread is fresh and warm, and it pairs well with the Kaya!

I’d been wanting Thai food for ages and stumbled upon this spot in downtown San Mateo. I got my go-to Papaya Salad, BBQ pork neck salad, and Pad See Ew. The food is amazing and really authentic. I love their classic Thai-style tablecloths that you see in a lot of places in Thailand. If you’re in San Mateo and in the mood for some unique eats, exotic food, or chill with your friends and family, this is a place for you.

Yesterday we tried this beautiful Thai restaurant in Downtown San Mateo and I am so happy we did. The food and drinks were absolutely as delicious and wonderful as they were beautiful and well presented. The service was fantastic as well and prices were reasonable for the area. None of this food upset my very sensitive stomach and I felt full for hours afterwards even though I didn’t even finish all of my curry. I finished the rest of it today and it regulated my blood sugar very well and returned me to baseline which tells me how excellently fresh, high quality, and real this food is (as opposed to low quality and full of preservatives and fillers). Absolutely excellent and I will be most happy to return and try more things.
Things we ordered: Thai Tea, Pineapple Mockarita, Vegetarian Egg Rolls, Green Curry with Beef, Spicy Seafood plate, Side of Fried Egg, Sweet Sticky Rice with Butterfly Pea Flower and Sweet Mango.
100/10 stars. Go give them a try if you are in the area!

Happy to see this Thai place has new owners. We walk by often and noticed the crispy chicken sign out front, so we decided to give it another try—and we’re glad we did.
Great service and fresh, authentic Thai food. We chatted with the new owners, and it’s clear they care about what they’re serving. The noodle soup was spot on, and the fresh spring rolls were perfect.
Ignore the old reviews—new owner, new chef, great food. We’ve already been back again just a week later and are looking forward to trying more dishes. If you like heat, be sure to ask for true Thai spice level.

We had an incredible dining experience, starting with the Roti Fried Chicken crispy on the outside, tender on the inside, and bursting with flavor. The Garlic Pork Spareribs were equally impressive, cooked to perfection with a delicious garlic marinade that made every bite unforgettable. The highlight of our meal was the Spicy Clay Pot, which delivered just the right amount of heat, balanced with rich, savory flavors. Finally, we couldn’t leave without trying the restaurant’s most popular dessert: Purple Mango Sticky Rice. The vibrant color and sweet, creamy taste of the sticky rice paired perfectly with the fresh, juicy mango. It was the perfect ending to a fantastic meal.
Highly recommended!
