Visited This Is It BBQ on July 4th for a quick lunch and had a pleasant experience overall. The service was friendly. We spent $45 for what we assumed would be a quick “lunchtime special,” while the price was a bit higher than expected. We ordered rib tips and a 2-piece whiting fish for our entrees. Both dishes were delicious, with the rib tips being particularly flavorful and tender. For sides, we had sweet potatoes, broccoli casserole, and cornbread, all of which were tasty. However, we didn’t particularly enjoy the collard greens.

This is it, ain’t it!! Don’t be fooled by the pictures. The quality of the food is trash, just because you add extra sauce doesn’t make it better. Everything tastes like it came out a can. The Maccaroni tastes like the kind nobody eats at the BBQ. I will never eat that again. To get descriptive, I shouldn’t pull grit out of my greens. Collards should not be gritty. The green beans taste like they were cooked in vinegar. The sweet potatoes aren’t the same but they get a pass. The skinny lady with braids had an attitude but the other staff were nice.

Went in for the first time today at the Panola location. I got the fried salmon sandwich with 2 sides, potato salad and cucumber salad. I also wanted to try the different sides they offer so I got the veggie plate with macaroni and cheese, cabbage, macaroni salad and, broccoli rice casserole. Everything was delicious but the sandwich didn’t have anything on it so I put my cucumber salad on it with tartar sauce. I don’t eat meat but I was told the beef ribs was good but boney. Excellent customer service and the place was packed on labor day 2022. Would’ve given 5 stars if lettuce and tomatoes came on my sandwich.

We spotted the sign from the highway and had a gut feeling that This Is It in Lithonia would be good—and wow, we were right! This place has now become our new favorite soul food restaurant.
We went with the Two for $35 Dinner Deal and took our time to maximize our choices so we could enjoy a little bit of everything.
**DINNER 1:** 1/4 Roasted Chicken Dinner
**DINNER 2:** 4 Bone Hickory Smoked Pork Spare Ribs
The staff—Regina, Nikki, Kenny, and Exavius—were all so friendly and welcoming. They even rang the bell for us because we were first-timers! As we were sitting down, a lovely lady named Rhonda chatted with us. She suggested adding Texas Pete’s hot sauce to the collard greens, and we’re so glad we took her advice. Just do it the Rhonda way—no need to test it first, it’s amazing!
We’ll definitely be back. This place is a gem!

We love “This Is It!” Have been supporting the establishment for decades. Like literally since I moved here in 2004! So, my mom was in town (from Illinois) and wanted some soul food. She remembered “having some really good chitterlings” the last time she was here and asked if we could go back to that place again. Well, of course we can…leggo! The location on Panola Road is where we went, because it’s always clean and has a security guard on post for added protection and peace of mind. It’s in a rougher area, so I appreciate that investment. Probably adds to the price of meals, which This Is It ain’t never been cheap, but the prices have increased significantly over the the years (inflation is real) and there is a sign on the door before you enter letting you know the prices have increased, cuz they don’t want no smoke when you get to the counter…you knew when you walked in that it was high, ha-hi-high, so if you’re on a budget, you might wanna cross the street and go to Cookout, cuz this definitely ain’t the place for those budget conscious. Okay? Okay! So, that being said, we had the 2 for $35 special or something like that. I got the rib plate (4 bones) and my mom got the wings plate. I prefer the tips, but tips weren’t included in the special. I really wanted catfish fillets, cuz I’m bougie like that, but they don’t even carry them (at this location) anymore! But, I digress. The sides were on point as usual (mac n cheese, collards, dressing w/ gravy, candied yams), and my sister got the turkey chop and it was good. My first time trying that little dish…winner! Overall we enjoyed the food and the experience. The staff were polite and friendly. This Is It did not disappoint! We’ll be back!! You should definitely give them a try!

We ordered the $10.99 lunch special, to-go. Make sure you check your order BEFORE you leave the restaurant; they only gave me 1 side, but I’m sure it wasn’t intentionally. I wanted the Bone-in Rib dinner but was told: “It’ll be about an hour on the Ribs”. So I had the Fried Whiting (it was fried perfect), Cabbage, and Sweet Potato Soufflé (the Soufflé was WAY TOO SWEET, I only ate about 2 Tablespoons of it, it taste like it has rum in it).
My husband had Grilled Whiting (over rice), Brunswick Stew,(only because more Collard Greens wasn’t ready), and Cabbage.

I was out on the delivery, and this is my second time going to this company but a different location, and I have wanted try the food. You know that saying ask n you shall receive, lol. I was picking up a veggie plate and as it was being prepared I watched another customer getting one similar. I was like that looks so good. Fast forward couldn’t find the customer’s address did everything I could to deliver it, so I did the only thing left to do. . It was all delicious. I enjoyed every bit! I Didn’t give it five stars because I did need to add some salt to it and that just may be me but other than that I would go back. It was good!.

Friendly southern atmosphere with a variety of Soul Food to choose from. Has a large variety of meat selections…..just to name a few brisket, ribs, rib tips, chicken, oxtail and plenty of sides to choose from. Seafood and fish made fresh to order so expect a wait. The orange drink is on point!!
The food is on the expensive side but they do give you nice size portions of food for the money.

We had a group of 15, so we called ahead to inquire about reservations. We were told they didn’t take reservations but that they would try to accommodate our party. When we arrived, the security guard let us know our table was saved and ready for us. The staff went out of their way to make sure we had everything we needed. There were even flowers on the tables for my sister because of her birthday! Every one was so nice and polite!
Now on to the food. It’s the rib tips for me! They were so flavorful with just the right amount of smoke and were so tender. I loved the macaroni and cheese, and the greens were flavorful with just the right amount of vinegar. The peach cobbler was so good and had lots of crust just like I like. I will definitely be back when I’m in town.

My wife and I had dinner there on 7/16/21. Seating was closed except a remote self service dining area. Great food, good service. The line to order was a bit long, but moved well -about a 20 minute wait.
