Reviews
There was some guffup in orders (which is understandable), where our order was delivered to next table who were vegetarian, and later we were handed off the same bowl that was use by them. When questioned, they took it back and made sure we got fresh bowl made again with some extra time.. So this was more of we asking versus them doing it right the first time, which I feel is basic culinary ethics to start with.
Our server was great, well spoken gentleman with great sense of customer service.
The food was generally good, though we didn’t find it exceptional. For an appetizer, we thoroughly enjoyed the Chandi Kaliyan (grilled boneless chicken). The chicken was perfectly marinated and beautifully spiced, and the presentation of the platter was genuinely artful. Our only minor suggestion is that a few grilled onions would have perfectly complemented the dish.
For the main course, we tried the Puran Singh da Tariwala Murgh, a North Indian style chicken curry, which we enjoyed along with the fresh plain naan.
The service was efficient and courteous, but we felt it could have benefited from a little more warmth to enhance the overall dining experience.
Overall, as regular diners who enjoy exploring various restaurants, we found the experience to be Overpriced and Underwhelming compared to our expectations. We would certainly consider trying other dishes on your menu in the future, but we’d think carefully before making a return visit.
We tried Harippa Paneer Tikka, Adraki Dhaniya Paneer, butter naan and then garlic naan. Paneer were superbly marinated and grilled, Adraki Daniya Paneer was the best curry I have tasted in the entire US and also naan were super soft. I definitely recommend to visit this restaurant and I and my family are going again on February 1st already made the reservations.
The food was good in parts, but not as exceptional as I would have expected from a restaurant carrying Chef Sanjeev Kapoor’s name. Service was courteous and friendly, though the wait for food felt longer than it should have been.
The ambiance was disappointing — quite noisy, which took away from the dining experience. The biggest letdown, however, was the Kulfi. It was completely crystallized, which is something I’d never expect at a restaurant of this level. A proper Kulfi should be creamy, and this was far from it.
On top of that, it’s a bit pricey and doesn’t deliver value for money.
Overall, an average experience. Good service and decent food, but the execution, quality, and pricing need to improve to match the reputation behind the name.
Top Dishes
Appetizer
Dahi ke Kabab was super . Comes with green coriander chutney
Harippa Paneer Tikka was average but had balanced taste .. the panner could have been more softer
Drinks
Peru Pyala = Average
Sweet lime soda= this was close to what you usually get in India. If you like more sweet then you should explicitly ask them to make it such
Main Course
Makhanwala Paneer = Very tasty and well balanced dish. Not too tangy not too sweet and just perfect balance of flavors and smooth gravy
Dal Makhani= i would also rate this high.. was quite good. Not too garlicky and works very well if you don’t prefer the strong garlic taste
Nizami Tarkari Biryani= I would say average
Dessert
Shahi Tukda = super yummy
Gulab e Gulkand= this was a big piece of gulab jamun filled with gukand ( jam made of rose petals)
Service= superb service. There was one of the senior Managers there named Vishnu. He was simply amazing in providing A+ grade service also g with other staff Sanjana!
Had high expectations from this place but food did not disappoint.
Dal Makhni- 5/5
Sham savera kofta- 5/5
Veg platter- 4/5
The dishes were good. Not my best ever Indian restaurant though, even in the US. You can find restaurants where I gave better scores.
I was a bit disappointed by nans that were not as good as I had got in several other restaurants. My main dish – butter chicken – was good.
In my point of view the price is a bit too high as compared to the quality.
