The service was wonderful. Unfortunately that’s where the good stopped.

Excellent food and service on a Saturday afternoon. This is a wonderful dive bar that surprises you with the good food! Special thanks to Annette for taking such great care of us eating at the bar!

A friend gave me a gift certificate for this place. Never been here. They thought I was trying to scam them as the gift certificate wasn’t signed or where it came from. Told them to give back and I would let friend know it was no good and he wasted his money. Finally they said numbers matched and I was able to use. Steak was tough (friend said it was probably not beef steak but horse as a joke) but all in all it was okay. Not many people and the reviews made to place sound very bad (reason I have never been inside). May go back with friend but not alone. 2 stars for calling me a scammer.

Don’t be discouraged buy the way it looks. If you go to grab food it’s pretty good. We recommend the combination platter or the dinner meals but note they are big portions

Ate there 30 years ago food was great, not so much anymore. I had a combination plate pork Chow mein, fried rice, egg foo young and sweet and sour chicken. The Chow mein smelled like the vegetables had soured. Is there fermented cabbage in it? The sweet and sour chicken had long shards of hard chicken. Like everything else in Portland the place has gone down hill. I don’t like leaving bad reviews but hopefully it will save someone some grief. Never going back.

One of the last Chinese/ american strong drink video poker joints left. This is old old Portland. If youre feeling doen about yourself..just go and watch the lower common denominater clients and youll feel great about who you are. Women are advised not to go in after dark alone..or at all.

The General Chicken is supposed to be spicy and garlicky. This tasted exactly like sweet and sour chicken. So much so that I called them and was told the sauce should be brown. So I walked back and had them take a look to make sure the order was right. They said it was. So my review of the general chicken is it’s way too sweet and a weird color. And soggy. I prefer mine to be crispy. It’s a decent value if you just want calories. $12.50 gets you a box full of soggy chicken pieces, some rice, and some broccoli.

Honestly I grew up in n. Portland. They were the best Chinese restaurant I ever been too. Always went there. But when they start charging 11.50 for a grilled cheese sandwich that is Bizzare. I understand that food cost did go up and everything did but that is silly. My husband makes a better one
