Bartender was miserable & waitress indifferent/borderline rude.

Food was a bit disappointing…we tried snacks & breakfast. Avocado Toast was burnt and needed to be sent back. Sewanee Breakfast was decent. Chili was ok, but needed chips and onions. Sweet Potato Fries were great.

Very nice restaurant, the service was wonderful! Very helpful attentive and kind staff.

The food was not something I would come back for unfortunately….

Eggs Benedict is supposed to be a poached egg, with a runny warm yoke that spills out and mixes with the hollandaise. The hollandaise is supposed to be a somewhat runny sauce that’s poured over the eggs.

This Bennie’s started on the wrong foot with no potatoes on the side!
Next the hollandaise was THICK. Not pourable, even a little. It literally *plopped* out and kind of half fell off of the egg haha. More like a custard. I will say the sauce was flavored very very well, salted, with a touch of lemon.

The eggs however… cooked HARD. Hard and dryyyyyy. I’ve had eggs Benedict in a dozen states across the country – and I have never had eggs overcooked this much!

Thank you for the service!

We were staying at the terralodge treehouse and decided to give the Shakerag a try for dinner. It was an absolutely outstanding meal, the waitress was pleasant we asked to be seated outside and there was no lack of attention even though we were not in the main dining room. I had t he Stake frites, my wife had the sea scallops and we both had cocktails, everything was excellently prepared, flavorful and an overall excellent experience.

Not the greatest but not terrible. Good drinks & service but the food was just ok. Pics show the bread basket (we ate some before the pic was taken), Flatiron steak, Caesar salad w. Steak, order of fries.

The Authentic lamb Sheppards pie reminded me of my time in Germany! The sirloin is super tender and juicy even fully cooked. They make their own steak sauce to go with the steak !! We will be coming back again and again! If the check said $100 I’d pay it smiling

Went for my friend’s birthday and the service was subpar at best. Our waitress never put in our appetizers and we waited over an hour for our entrees only for them to come out cold.

Short version: everything was great and we were very happy with the meal.

Long version: we were looking for a place for a late dinner. Not many options. We were skeptical because of only having 22 reviews and had low expectations. Everything exceeded expectations. Shrimp and grits were delicious. Cocktails were on point. Cookie skillet was darn good.

Atmosphere is a little high brow as it is inside a nice hotel. Some folks in there seemed like the type that would complain about anything no matter the circumstances. So take negative reviews with a grain of salt.

I’d recommend dinner here and would be happy to go back!

Overcrowded. Over rated. Overcooked. Overpriced.
Sewanee has so much to offer but nowhere nice and clean to stay in. If you have money to invest in a luxury hotel in this area, I’m telling you that it would be an EXCELLENT investment.. nothing at all offered here. Since there is NO competition here, I can see people raving about this place but honestly… Just go to Papa Ron’s

Everything was great: food, drinks, service and desert. Pretty fancy place. Had a few apps, entrees, drinks, and the cookie skillet for dessert. We were happy with all of it.
An old bat at another table was mad about her steak, but she seemed the type to complain about everything. I’m sure they see that a lot.
Happy we stopped in. I’ll be back. Definitely a place to eat if you’re in the area.
