My wife and I wanted to try this restaurant for the first time. The place is great. Services and our food is great. The desert that we had is yummy! Little pricey but worth it. Try them out!

First time I went it was amazing. Went yesterday and I don’t know what happend. The ribs were so tuff and had a funky taste. The spaghetti looked like it was drenched in water. I wasn’t expecting spaghetti soup. The bread they give you was re heated and the edges were hard. The waiter also had an attitude. I won’t be going back.

Great restaurant, food, service, and atmosphere. We were seated promptly and water arrived quickly. The staff was friendly and attentive. The side salad had house made croutons. Restaurants have dropped croutons to my disappointment, so it was great to have them again. The dressing was house made, delicious.

My wife had the NY strip and she thought it was the best steak she’d had in years. She is a keto dieter and has become a beef flavor/quality expert. The ribs were great. The sweet BBQ sauce was good with the pork. The pasta we ordered for sides was homemade from scratch pasta that was locally sourced.

We asked, everything, the fresh bread, the pasta, the meats, all of the food we were served, was either made from scratch at the Waterloo or locally sourced from nearby farms and bakeries. You could tell. It was really fresh and well made.

They have a full bar with a friendly crowd. The old fashioned I ordered was complete with a Luxardo cherry. Waterloo isn’t the biggest town in the world but if you’re here, definitely visit The Waterloo Restaurant. We came in a half hour before close on a Thursday night and it was a full house.

There’s an entertaining story about the battle of Waterloo, not with Napoleon, but locally with a stolen canon on the back of the menu. There is a wall that honors local military heros, and they sell some pretty neat merch, including dog toys, although it is a service dog only restaurant.

First time here and I love it! The atmosphere, food… the combination complimented each other. But let’s get to the food.. amazing!!! Portion sizes and taste does not disappoint!! I can’t tell you what’s a favorite as they were all so delicious! Their BBQ sauce it in point! If you have not been, it should definitely be on your priority list! I can’t wait to go back!

The Waterloo Restaurant – Good Food with Local Charm and a Few Surprises

I recently visited The Waterloo Restaurant in Waterloo, California, to celebrate a friend’s birthday. Our group reserved a table for 12, looking forward to enjoying the evening together. However, when we arrived, the restaurant was quite busy, and we were seated at two separate round tables. We asked if the tables could be moved together so we could all sit as a group, but the staff wouldn’t allow it. Initially, it was disappointing, but given how busy the place was—and considering we did make the reservation somewhat last minute—it’s understandable that they may not have had the flexibility to rearrange things.

Despite the seating arrangement, the atmosphere was lively and inviting. One charming detail that stood out was the menu design. The front page of their menu features kids’ drawings, which I was told are from local school children. It was a nice touch that gave the place a warm, community feel.

Even with the crowd, the staff remained friendly and attentive, ensuring our drinks were filled and checking in regularly.

One thing to note is their policy on shared meals. Two of the ladies in our group decided to share a meal, but they were surprised to see an extra charge for splitting the dish on the check. They weren’t informed about this fee beforehand, and the only notice was printed at the bottom of the menu, which was easy to overlook. It’s unclear what the fee is meant to cover—perhaps the cost of an extra plate? Either way, it was an unexpected cost that could have been communicated more clearly.

For my meal, I ordered the Roasted Chicken with a baked potato and a salad. The chicken was flavorful and well-cooked, and the sides complemented the meal nicely. Overall, I was satisfied with the food, and the portion size was generous.

However, it’s worth mentioning that The Waterloo Restaurant is on the pricier side. The cost felt a bit steep for what you get, but the food quality was good, and the atmosphere was enjoyable.

Overall, The Waterloo Restaurant delivers good food, attentive service, and a cozy ambiance with a touch of local charm. The seating arrangement wasn’t ideal, but given how busy they were and the timing of our reservation, it’s understandable. The surprise meal-splitting fee was a minor inconvenience, but the quality dishes and community-oriented atmosphere made up for it. If you’re aware of the extra charges and are okay with slightly higher prices, it’s a great place to enjoy an evening out.

Boy, did we have fun at the Waterloo Restaurant and did we eat eat and eat! We were in town for a show at the Bob Hope theater and wanted to dine before the show. My wife found Waterloo and suggested it as they did BBQ. Count me in! The food was great and the portions very generous. Even better the service from the young lady who let me sample both of the soups so I could decide which I favored. We definitely came home with leftovers. Give Waterloo a shot when you’re in town!

We had a blast here! I wanted to take my mom out as a little treat, and hadn’t been here in quite a while. There was a dining room they took us to, (Had a 7 yr old with us as well) and I didn’t much care for the chairs and layout. Not the comfiest, but people come for the food and drinks, not the seating. It was just after they switched from lunch to dinner, so I think things were a bit disorganized, which happens. They also have tvs all over for sports. Our server didn’t tell us there were holiday drinks, but I overheard another table, and got to try their maple manhattan. It was strong and delicious.

The service was great for the rest of the meal. Very attentive and patient listing out the food specials and options. They also accommodated one person getting veggies instead of the pasta or potato. I was worried that they didn’t have a kid’s menu, but she said that she could get just a bowl of pasta. My kid devoured it!

I had the special of ribeye and prawns. It was enough for 3 people, and I had delicious leftovers for breakfast and lunch the next day. The prawns were well cooked, and my steak was perfectly rare. Everything was seasoned, and delicious. Their bread and pasta are fresh made nearby and they also have their own amazing bbq sauce. The menu looks simple, but everything on it is yummy.

This is some real deal comfort food. Nothing fancy or pretentious. They’ve been here a long time, and it’s easy to see why they’re still here. When we left, the bar and booths were packed. I would definitely recommend eating here if you get the chance.

Happy New Years. Took my family to dinner which was 10 of us. Bill was over $300 only in my food after about two bites I find a black hair in my food.wasn’t mine. My hair is grey. Told my waitress and all she did was take it and I had to ask what was going to be done and she said it’s gonna be comped. Ok but what am I going to eat? She said her boss said we have enough food he could order /pay another plate.. Me and my family usually go there for dinner on some of our special occasions.. I felt another plate should have been included with the comp.. And I didn’t expect a response like that..and after that hair I wasn’t going to buy another plate.. but keep the gratuity you charged me and didn’t allow me to take any of that back.. not a good way to start off Waterloo Restaurant
