I placed a carryout order for carryout. It was easy to order. The food was prepared quickly. I love the boxes they use for carryout. It allows the fried items to breath, thus staying crispy and not getting soggy! Everything was good Catfish, Hushpuppies and Crab boil bag is what we ordered.

I was craving seafood and decided to try The Twisted Crab near the mall. I really liked the atmosphere especially all the shark and fish decorations throughout the restaurant. The hosts were very polite and welcoming. Our waitress was friendly but unfortunately the service was extremely slow. The restaurant wasn’t busy at all about seven tables and maybe 18 people total most of whom already had their food. It took around 15 minutes just to get water and I ended up ordering my food at the same time. After that there was another 30 minute wait. It definitely felt excessive given how slow it was. As for the food the seafood boil was very salt almost overwhelming. I’ll probably stick with just butter next time.Despite the slow service and seasoning issue I think this place has potential and I’m willing to give it another try.

My family of 10 visited Twisted Crab at Lynnhaven on 2/28/26 at 5:00 and our waitress was Makayla. Makayla sat our party down, informed us that “Happy Hour” is currently taking place. She took our drink order and brung our drinks out. She then took our food order. She was informed that the bill would be split. The entire party placed their order by 5:30. It took an hour for our orders to come out. A few members of our party ordered the seafood bags. The orders placed, that had items that were fried, were received cold. When, I say fried items, I am referencing several orders that consisted of fries, oysters, and chicken. Those items were rejected by several members of our party and sent back to the kitchen to be fresh and fried. The fried items were sent back to the kitchen at 6:30 was delivered back at 7:30. Around 7:00, the manager on duty came to the table because many individuals were complaining, and the manager assured the individuals that there order was moved to the top and would be out shortly. The individuals who received their fried food, yet again for the second time, received their food cold. So be mindful, the objective is for the party to eat together. The individuals that ordered the seafood bag were done eating by 7:10. Many of the remaining individuals that received their fried food at 7:30 cancelled their orders, others asked for their food to be remade but to carry out, and everyone asked for their printed bill by Makayla. She stalled for an entire 45 minutes in providing the bill for the party. Many individuals were asking her, “are you telling me you don’t know how to push print”. She proceeded to say “I have to ask my manager”. Meanwhile, the individuals who asked for their food to be remade and to go received their food at 8:00. When a different waitress delivered the food, it was delivered in one bag, although Makayla was fully aware, some individuals were paying there tab separately. We all got tired of waiting for Makayla to bring the bill, so we proceeded to the cashier. The cashier was able to print out everyone’s bill. The individuals that received bills noticed that the bill didn’t represent the discount of “happy hour”. The cashier informed our party that “ happy hours was not taking place at this time. We all expressed to the cashier that Makayla informed us that happy hour was taking place upon taking the drink order. The manager was very reluctant in removing the discounts for happy hour,, although it was the employee that misinformed us. Me and my family dine here twice a month, with at least 10 individuals, and has never experience this issue when “John” is our server. From this dining experience, I noticed that food orders to go, placed through Door Dash appears to take precedent over individuals actually dining in. Meaning, it appears that dine in orders are pushed to back/end and orders to go are a main priority to push out in the kitchen. Also, I noticed that the staff is not trained properly to handle large parties of 4 or more. My family will visit Boil Bay for our next outing.

Out waitress was kind and very attentive……When she could be. Unfortunately she was the ONLY waitress for the ENTIRE restuarant during lunch. The food took FOREVER but was delicious once it finally arrived. They should have a system when other pich in to help the waitress instead of walking around doing what appeared to be nothing. No music just DEAD air while waiting FOREVER for the food. The service one was not for the waitress but for the restaurant as a whole.

Came here a few weeks ago for my brothers 20th! And was absolutely blown away from how amazing everything was. First timer including me and my family and we wanted to try something new in the area. Wish we found out about this place sooner . The food itself was incredible and well cooked/prepared. The service was quick and friendly as well, didn’t take us long to be seated. And the inside of the place had a really nice and warm atmosphere. Me and my family had a great time and do plan on coming back! ❤️

Came here for my friends party everyone was very nice and respectful. The food came out quickly and was really good no problem for me at all. They weren’t rude to us at all and showed hospitality. The atmosphere was so cozy and nice didn’t feel uncomfortable one bit.

I love Twisted Crab, which is why this experience was so disappointing. I had been craving it for so long and finally convinced my husband to take me. When we arrived, it was fully packed with a 37-minute wait, and the lobby was crowded with people waiting for tables. Since the wait was long, we decided to order takeout instead.

The gentleman at the front took my husband’s name and phone number for the order. After placing it, we waited outside on the bench. Unfortunately, no one called or notified us when our food was ready. Thankfully, I asked my husband to go inside and follow up, and that’s when we found out our food had already been sitting there ready.

My second concern was the portion size. I ordered ½ lb of green mussels and 1 lb of shrimp. The shrimp portion seemed reasonable, but I only received 4 pieces of green mussels for ½ lb. I understand shells add to the weight, but that felt very disappointing for the price.

I truly love Twisted Crab, which is why this experience was so heartbreaking—especially after looking forward to it for so long. I hope this feedback helps improve communication and portion consistency in the future.

Hands down worst service we have ever had! The food was excellent but some of our stuff was cold. Drinks were watered down and our server was M.I.A. I had to hunt another service down to not only get a cracker for our crab legs but to get our checks separated and refills. Not a single manager was touching tables to see how meals were. As a former service your establishment needs more training and a managers presence. I don’t blame the kitchen for our food being cold because our server was no where to be found, Kitchen staff brought our food out.server didn’t tell us her name, any menu specials or suggestions. Asked to have an extra wing sauce on the side and we were told no at first. No discount was offered. Will not be returning

We had a very large party (celebrating a birthday) and were quickly accommodated. There were actually several large parties all celebrating birthdays and the overall vibe was very festive!

Despite several large parties being served at the same time, the food came out in a timely manner and overall was very good (only real complaint was that the sweet potato fries were slightly overcooked).

Our party ordered a varietal assortment of menu items and it was all prepared rather well.

Servers were friendly, knowledgeable and inconspicuous when refilling drinks, bringing late placed orders etc. so as not to interfere with the celebration.

Highly recommend.

Honestly, This is probably my least favorite location in the 757. They have happy hour for drinks until 8pm so that was a plus, But no happy hour menu for the food…. Which I found to be a little weird because all the other locations in the area do, This location is more for the younger “Instagram” crowd. My favorite location is the one at PTC in Hampton Va but since I’ve been back on this side, Monticello has won me over. I’m a VB native but I probably won’t be returning to this location… Maybe I came on the wrong night…. With that being said, I’d definitely check out all the other locations we have in the 75 before coming to this one. VA beach just isn’t the same anymore ☹️.
