My first time visiting the Coastal Cantina this bar/restaurant hits all the marks Kirsten made great food and drink suggestions and everything was made with the freshest ingredients. Drinks were amazing we had blackberry margaritas and a pineapple mojito and a birria machete (large taco) with the best beans and rice! The chips and homemade salsa are a must try! We are so impressed and will be returning we will be making this one or our regular stops! 10/10 freshness drink and food quality and fun friendly atmosphere and staff! Go to Coastal Cantina!!!

Wasn’t sure if this place was open at first but then I realized the seating is in the back. Food was good and I had a great margarita. Service was excellent, we were checked on several times and the server was very friendly. This place is also family friendly, our kids were welcomed and they had crayons and a kids menu to color on. I can’t unsee the decorations from Speak, the restaurant that was there before this one, but they’ve done a decent job turning into a different vibe. We will be back!

I was prepared to be impressed, but am extremely underwhelmed. Pleasant staff couldn’t make up for a haphazard atmosphere and wildly under-portioned food. Kids quesadilla is a half quesadilla with no sides for $6.99. Mediocre under-seasoned food. Birria was good enough and the cocktails are great, but the enchilada mole was fairly tasteless.
Staff was nice. Best thing I can say about it.

My 6-year-old son’s review of the place was “It’s like they have salt but they don’t use it.”
Save your money and your evening and go to Casa Mama or Gloria’s or Zonata instead. Heck, go to Chipotle and get better food.

It is such a great place. The atmosphere is so cut it feels like you are at the beach. You have to walk toward the back though. There is a sign that says dining room but it is really tiny. I love enchiladas and these were the best enchiladas I’ve ever had. I got the enchiladas “rojo” red and they were soooo good. And the rice is amazing. Seriously please go to this place because you will not be disappointed.

Food was okay…
Hot sauces are on the weak side and too runny, lacks flavor.. mole sauce was runny, needs to be thicker.. mango margarita needs help, stay away from cheap mixers.. I had the Birria tacos and they were great, won’t mention the others as they need help.
Service was on point – 100% for our server, very helpful in explaining the dishes and service provided..
Atmosphere – saw more of the chip and dip crowd and there for the drinking, not there specifically for the cuisine.. we will try again, restaurant is still new and probably still working out the kinks..

In a completely empty restaurant we were told we could not sit at a booth because they get too busy later and need booths for larger parties.
Ridiculous!
Went across the street to Fable & Fire ( very busy btw) and got a booth with no problem or lip about it.
Our first visit here. Do you want my business or not?

Update! I have since learned the guy that woulda’t let us sit at a booth was the owner. I can guarantee this place will not last. I feel so sorry for his staff.

This is the most surprising, delicious addition to downtown Rockwall! Amazing ahi tuna nachos, best salsa and the most knowledgeable/kind service. I’ll be back for business lunches, dates with my husband and I bet my kids would love it.
