We came here on a Monday for lunch. We had been at Fort Christian and intended on going to a different restaurant we saw on the map or Yelp and found out from a man on the street that place was closed. He recommended we come here to Tuck. I’m glad we took his advice!
We sat a the bar. Of course we had the painkiller and it was delicious. We also had a conch meal with rice and veggies and a fish meal with veggies and cole slaw. The food was excellent.
The bartender and staff were all friendly and attentive. I noticed a group came in as we were finishing up and I believe they were on a food tour. We did that once in Seattle and enjoyed it. I wish I had thought to do that in St. Thomas.
Prices were comparable to other places we had been. It sure about parking – it looked like street parking but we were on foot walking around town.
Anyway, we really enjoyed lunch here.

The jerk chicken was the best I’ve had. Shrimp curry was very good. We missed the roti though it was sold out. Great local food near the cruise port.

Stumbled upon this spot as I and read reviews about good local food and the island famous Painkiller drink. The jerk chicken was “the best chicken I’ve had in my life” per my husband… fall of the bone good, medium spice! The conch fritters and plantains were also great, and highly recommend the painkiller – said to be invented in the Virgin Islands. Our server was also super friendly and accommodating! Highly recommend!

WOW…this was genuinely the best dining experience I’ve had in a long time. Our waitress was super friendly and attentive, the jerk chicken was SO tender and perfectly seasoned, and the sides were all great (but the mac and cheese was especially incredible). The rum punch was strong, sweet, and delicious. Not sure why Michelin hasn’t come down here yet?!

Great local Caribbean food. We had jerk Chicken and curry shrimp. So delicious. The lemonade was so good… had a bit of coconut in it. The service was friendly. The food took a little long but was worth it.

Atmosphere was cozy and beautiful inside, staff was friendly, kind and very accommodating. The food was excellent! We had the steak wrap with potato wedges, conch fritters, jerk chicken, sweet fried plantains, and baked macaroni with cheese. For drinks, sprite soda, cranberry juice, and homemade fruit punch. I highly recommended The Tuck Shop to my family, friends, and all that visit St. Thomas USVI.

Food was ok, but not as much flavor as I had expected for what was presented as “authentic” island food. Was quiet $$$ to be underwhelmed. Drinks were great

Stopped by two times during our stay in Charlotte Amalie. It’s a very local place, nothing fancy, but clean and very reasonably priced. The food taste good and portion is big compare to some other restaurants we went. While wondering on the street where all the Jewelry stores are, I heard people were asking about this place and the local people all know exactly where it is. Definitely should stop by if you are looking for a place to eat and don’t care about ocean views, music or fancy atmosphere. While we were there, a very nice and cheerful gentlemen who works for a Jewelry store bought us and some other customer a shot of cucaracha (?), it taste very good.

Incredible Food and hospitality!! We were suggested The Tuck Shop by a local bartender. The four of us went in for some delicious food and we’re not disappointed in any from the rum punch to the Conch Fritters. We then had the jerk chicken and the curry shrimp as well as a pulled pork sandwich and everything was incredibly delicious flavorful. Situated right in downtown within walking distance of all the shops this is a must stop restaurant!!
