Stopped in a little town called Cazenovia for coffee and to stretch our legs during a road trip. Lovely little bakery called The Toast! Unique cannoli flavours including a chocolate peanut butter and a raspberry pistachio. Coffee was good. Excellent smoothies too. Everything on the menu and in the bakery case looked amazing! Loved seeing the pride flag in the window of this small town bakery too!

We stopped here after our morning run to grab a quick breakfast! It did not disappoint! Food was awesome, and came out quickly! I ordered just a simple egg, meat, and cheese croissant breakfast sandwich. He ordered the special eggs, greens and prosciutto! Everything was delicious To go we ordered some pastries, a sugared chocolate mousse donut and a raspberry crumble cake! Definitely a cool place to check out!

The attention to detail and heart has been sadly lost at The Toast. I went years ago and had one of the best meals of my life, so I was excited to have the time to go again for breakfast this morning. I was very disappointed with taste, quality, and presentation. It just felt like the care was gone. Nothing is local in their sandwiches anymore, as far as I could tell from the menu descriptions. The atmosphere is lacking. Feels more like a middle of the road diner than the local heart-felt bakeshop I remembered those years ago.

Awesome local bakery with breakfast and an assortment of baked goods. Had the Eggs, Greens and Prosciutto and took home a Raspberry Crumble Cake and a Chocolate Mousse Donut. Everything was delicious in a cozy atmosphere. I would recommend Toast to anyone looking for a quick bite or some baked goods.

Decided to take my son to breakfast this morning and so I thought I would try The Toast since I had never been there before. Parking was easy and the place was all but empty. The girls at the front were super nice, helpful in answering some questions I had, and we ordered our food. I have to say there was no real option for children and so I spent quite a bit of money for an adult portion meal for a 5-year-old child and there weren’t really any options that were child appropriate but thankfully he likes adult food too. We sat down and waited quite a while for our food to come out and at some point I thought this better be worth it for the wait but when the food came out I realized it was definitely worth the wait. Our food was excellent, and I mean excellent. I had a goat cheese, apple and sausage sandwich on a croissant which was heavenly and my son had french toast which I tried also and it was very good, beautiful presentation, albeit a little bit dry, but of little matter once you put maple syrup on it. My son needed to use the restroom, and I found it a little odd that they had extra tables stacked in there – I found that kind of off-putting and maybe prevent someone with a wheelchair from being able to truly access it easily so I would say they probably need to find somewhere else to store those, but the bathroom was very clean and easy to find. I also really liked how they have art for sale in there and it was on the wall in the bathroom and up front by the registers. I almost missed that actually because it’s so low on the wall in front of the registers – they could probably put it on The Big empty wall by the large party table, but nonetheless I really like the idea of selling local art if it is indeed local. Overall I would say really good food and I can’t wait to try some of their pastries someday. I don’t think it’s a place I would go to often with my son for breakfast just because of the price points being so high (almost $40 for breakfast) and not having any children’s meals, and no pancakes which are his staple out to breakfast meal, but I would definitely take my husband back there or another adult for a special occasion breakfast, grab a sandwich to treat myself, or stop there to pick up a dessert for dinner sometime as a special treat to my family. Will be back for sure.

Very sad experience. I went to the Toast years ago in Canastota and had one of the best breakfast sandwiches Ive tasted. I went here this morning and we were disappointed in very run of the mill diner food that is not at diner prices. Im sure the pastries are great as it seems their business model has shifted towards focusing on that side of things. I would recommend visiting other cafes for breakfast food.

Drove 45 minutes to eat here for the first time, tried calling prior to make sure they were open but no answer so we chanced it. We arrived, they were open but claimed they just stopped serving breakfast that due to some issue. So we were going to go somewhere else and get breakfast and come back to get pastries then the woman stated their hours changed too and they’d be closing at 12.. so we got several pastries and took them to go. When we got home we tried them. And honestly, I don’t know what the hype is. The cinnamon roll was hard, the raspberry muffin wasn’t bad, the blueberry crescent thing was ok at best, the hand pie was ok, the filling was fine but the crust was very soft and I didn’t care for it. And it all came to $30. I wouldn’t return.
