The Striped Rock ( now aka The Crab Pot) is just… okay. I have been there about 5-6 times in the past year. Several of those times I ordered fried oysters. The quality of the oysters has been inconsistent each time, sometimes being a little too moist or oily. (I have only ordered them in season.) To be fair, other times they have been fine. While the food and service is okay, I feel like the other Stoney’s restaurants are better to go to in Solomons as they offer views or more diverse choices of food, even after the menu changed for the Crab Pot. Service has also been inconsistent as sometimes it has been okay and other times I feel like attention is not being paid to all customers as it should be. Overall, the experience isn’t bad, but I feel but there are many other places in Solomon’s Island that can give you a better experience with more choices of quality seafood as well as drinks and other dishes. I’m looking forward to see if the Crab Pot will eventually diversify their menu as it has potential to be a great place to eat.

This used to be one of my favorites restaurants to fine, but after visiting on Friday April 21, 2017 I will not return. My husband and I have visited here on several occasions, we even brought family from out of town here. We ordered out drinks last night and they were horrible so we asked our waiter to removed them from our bill, he insisted on us trying something different. He bought the new drinks out and they still were horrible. He asked us if we didn’t like them and we replied no and we asked him to remove them from our bill. He didn’t remove them so we didn’t tip him. We paid our bill which was $86 and walked outside. The manager came running up to us yelling to us about why we didn’t leave a tip. I tried to explain to her that they didn’t remove the drinks, she said she did but when I showed her the receipt she proceeded to yell and said that she will not serve us again and to get off of the property as to another young guy started yelling also. That was unprofessional and she even call the police. I will never attend this restaurant again and I will spread the word to my friends of this horrible experience.

I have patronized the Striped Rock since it opened and I love it. They have had a few issues with servers and even getting food out in a timely manner, but they have overcome those. The food is scrumptious for lunch and dinner. The specials are creative. The breakfasts are the best in town, too, although I don’t know how anyone finishes them due to the generous quantity. If you tried them early on and had a bad experience, I would hope that you would return and give them another chance. And, the art is great, too!

Great dining experience!!! We came back again to see Krystal who is the best bartender ever and we are try to shake off the winter blues. Oysters and wings were great and on happy hour special. I can’t wait to come back by water next time.

having read a few other reviews about poor service and food, I have to say our experience is the opposite. Food has always been tasty and generous and exactly as ordered. Our servers have always been pleasant. We don’t mind a bit of a wait for our food since we typically go in nice weather and bring our dog. They have a nice dog friendly patio both in front and in back of the restaurant.

The food wasn’t great at all. I got the seafood platter 1 grouper, 3 shrimps, 4 scallops, and 2 crab balls. I was very disappointed with the food. The crab balls were nasty, 1 scallop was a different color than the other 3, the grouper had no taste, and the shrimps were ok. I did love the Cheap Sunglass drink it was the bomb that I ordered 2 of them, thank you bartender. My hubby got the rock fish bites and they were good. I loved the French fries and the onion rings but how can anyone go wrong with those.

Good location and amazing food. I do not know how they can make any money given the amount of lump crab in the rich cream of crab soup ($5 per cup and $7 for the bowl) It was delicious. My wife and I split a bowl, the fish tacos, and the Stripped Rock salad with seared rock fish. A surprising lunch experience and nice view. Highly recommend.

This place deserves no stars. The service at the bar was terrible. Instead of a greeting we got a “know what you wanna drink?” No conversation at all, no recommendations, nothing. The locals got conversation but we were treated as outsiders, which was funny because the locals we’re drinking soda at the bar and not spending much money.
