I love this place! Maybe the outside doesn’t look fancy, but the food makes up for that. The crab soup is good, the fried shrimp is wonderful, even the brisket is very good. Sometimes the service could be better, but again the food makes up for it. The hush puppies are fresh and good too. We’ve had multiple dishes here and I always enjoy coming back to eat here. Next door is the fish market, which I need to try too.

I drove to New Bern for a baby shower. After the fun was over I was Hungry so I ask the family, those who came on this trip are you ready for some good cooking? I’m buying, all you can eat. Yes I had some picky eaters in the bunch, but the food and service was so good i gave the waitress a nice tip! We are coming back next week just for the food.. My third time and their 2nd. 5 years ago was my first time and I haven’t forgotten. ❤

I went there for my first time today. There was only one waitress and the younger generation were doing a excellent job at learning how to help. I can say that there was only one waitress, but this woman was working like 3 people. She was friendly. She had me smiling and laughing too. Attentive to 4 tables. Kept my cup full. I was pleased with experience and the service that I received. The food was hot. The sweet tea was good. The restaurant looked very clean. There were a few children in the restaurant that were very mannerable and seemed to be helpful with keeping things organized and clean. I will be looking forward to eating there again.

Ate at this family owned place twice while on vacay. Who can go to the south and eat just salad! Met the owner, daughter and son in law. The minute we were greeted, seated and served I knew it was a family owned joint. We ate everything fried but you can get fresh fish grilled or steamed! Now don’t be put off that you’re given plastic utensils and theres no beer/wine, locals aren’t! If you want quality seafood, go!!! Unfortunately no food pics because we devoured our plates and had to go back two days later. Blue crab salad amazing and fried fresh catch of the day !!!

Excellent seafood and extremely fresh since they get their fish from the fish market next door. Rachel, our server, was really friendly and gave us really good service. My mom got the fish and chips and claimed they were the best she’s had. Better than the English ones she had.

Not a bad little spot. Fast n friendly service. When it got busy, the what I assume was management stepped in and refilled our drink. Had the 3 combination plate. Fried Shrimp and Clam Strips were tasty, Flounder was fairly good. Fries and Green Beans were good. (Added salt, but better to allow me, than to be over done from the kitchen) Decor was… well it’s a Seafood Place. No surprise there. Overall, good experience, fairly good food, middle of the road prices. I’ve paid way more for way worse.

Relatives from Vermont and I ate her about 4pm on a Friday. The atmosphere was relaxed and friendly. The food was excellent, particularly the broiled flounder and fried okra.

This is a hole in the wall cafe with outstanding food. Priced right and excellent service. Even the cook comes out to make sure the food was good. Best crab cakes in New Bern.
