Could I do 4.5 stars? Food is really great, staff friendly, and the environment is clean and welcoming. I wasn’t getting my hopes up in small town USA, but this place impressed me enough to eat at if it was in my home town.
I appreciate the quality and effort the owners put in to this place as an oasis in people like me call the middle of freaking nowhere. When one has got to eat in such areas the options are usually bad, really bad, or slightly better but far overpriced. This place hits the right “spot” with decent quality food at a very fair price. Jamie is awesome.

This is a new restaurant so disregard reviews from prior to June 2019.
The staff & owners deserve 5 stars as they were wonderful! They were very helpful & seemed genuinely happy. I even overheard the owner checking on the kitchen staff to see if they needed any cold drinks.
As far as the food goes, the portions were huge & the beer battered onion rings & jalapeno poppers were outstanding. For my entree, I ordered the chicken fried chicken. (I would have ordered the chicken fried steak but they were sold out.) The chicken was cooked perfectly but the breading lacked flavor & I didn’t care for the dry, crumbly, crunchy texture. The mashed potatoes also lacked flavor & were not creamy, like they used water to mash them with instead of milk (or even better, half & half). I will definitely be back & look forward to trying other menu items.

Stopped on our way from Colorado Springs to Randall, and it was a really good decision. The service was excellent, the prices are really reasonable, and the food was really good. The owners were really nice to my little girl also. It seems to have an inviting atmosphere and the whole place was really clean, including the bathroom. We will definitely be stopping again should we pass through at a later date.

We are passing through Downs on a cross country trip. Our B&B host said this place was a new business from what it was before in the same location and in her opinion was much better now. And we couldn’t have felt more fortunate with our dinner last night. My husband had the hamburger steak and mashed potatoes and said it was the best meal he has had so far on this entire trip. My meal was very good also. The waitress, I wish I had learned her name, was very pleasant and kind, providing perfect service in a genuine way. The restaurant is very clean with a nice atmosphere and the whole experience was a very pleasant surprise. We wish all the best for them. Well worth a drive from neighboring towns for an enjoyable dinner out.

I have ordered a few times now from this restaurant. The first 2 orders were not made correctly, (and a salad shouldn’t go in the same to go box as hot food) it took about 15 minutes longer then stated for pick up, and I wasn’t happy. The last 2 times I’ve ordered, the food was great, the staff was friendly and I can definitely tell the owners are really trying to make The Spot a warm and enjoyable place. Even with all the mistakes they had to go through to get the old dirty nasty restaurant up and going again, I wish them luck and will continue to watch and see how their hard work and passions pay off. I ate here a few days after they opened, the staff did a really good job taking care of me and my friends. I had the BLT it was so good I wish I could have had another one, the fries that came with it were good too. My friends ordered the chicken strips and the Chicken bacon ranch sandwich and I took a bite of both, I think they were better than DQ.
I will definitely be going back and I highly recommend The Spot!

We just ate at this restaurant and it was a disaster. I never leave negative reviews ever but this was truly a disappointment. Not only did the food take over an hour to get to our table but all of our orders were wrong. The staff seemed extremely confused and the cook was yelling and being extremely rude. Luckily my child didn’t have a complete meltdown but waiting that long for less than quality food and a dirty highchair was definitely not what we had in mind. Never did get the correct order either with very little apology from the staff. We will not be back.

Got a cheeseburger to go absolutely the worst burnt burger I’ve ever had. It also took longer for me to get just a cheeseburger than it did to cook shrimp for a local that ordered 5min after I did.
