Small place with big taste. I’m not exaggerating when I say this was the best fried catfish I’ve ever had in my life. Sweet potatoes fries were perfect. Slaw and hush puppies were good too. The entree was so good that my mozzarella stick appetizer coming out halfway through eating it didn’t bother me like it would have otherwise (also they were very good which didn’t hurt either). Work will see me back out in Marion in a couple weeks and I don’t even have to Google food options now. If you’re out that way, pull through and I’m confident you won’t be disappointed.

**My two coworkers and I ordered the exact same plates down to the sides so sorry I can’t give much insight outside of that freaking unbelievable catfish

Once a month a Birmingham group of guys travel to various locations “in search of Alabama’s best hamburger.” After traveling the 90 miles, we located the “shack” with graffiti on all of the indoor concrete walls. The place literally smelled like burgers. More importantly, we located an outstanding bacon cheeseburger which we all considered as one of Alabama’s best. Thick, juicy & perfectly cooked. Congrats to the cook for making our “road trip” a pleasant experience!

Stopped by here after trying a different local eatery earlier in the week. I was not disappointed! The food was good as was the service, and portions were more than ample. I tried the Beef Rick to be different and it was amazing in a backwoods, home style way. Service was good, nothing exceptional but adequate and attentive. The decor was nice for this type of restaurant, which are usually what I like. Nothing fancy but welcoming. Will be back next time I’m passing through and hungry.

Great off-the-beaten-path place for a drink and dinner. Their Hot Wings are very good and we like that you can order any number. Husband and I shared a Hamburger Steak with a tossed salad and onion rings. Highly recommend the Hamburger Steak! Food was great. Service was friendly and efficient. We’ll be back.

We stopped for lunch one day. It was phenomenal!. The HB steak is as good as any I have ever had. They told us they did breakfast too. It has become the go to breakfast spot since.

If you were looking for good food and a good time in Marion, the shack is the place to go. Be sure to try their steaks. They are some of the best you can get anywhere around here.

I loved the signs on the wall, on outside patio. The fans created a nice breeze for an 84 degree March day in the sun. Waitresses were very nice at refilling our drinks, and taking order from menu promptly. Easy to pay for meal. Definitely going back! My seat needed a cushion. But I loved the barstool table.

Great place. The food was great. The service was slow but after leaving the sign outside said, “We don’t serve fast food but we do serve”. They do exactly what the fine print says! lol

Food was excellent. Service was slow but it was a Saturday night during hunting season. Live entertainment.

Came in for breakfast and thought I would have to eat it for lunch. The wait was terrible for such few patrons present. Had hoped it was worth the wait until I was served over cooked eggs, bacon hard as granite, (I’ll eat bacon burned) and “hash browns” that tasted like onion.

The toast was good
