This piano bar and restaurant is a popular local spot with 60s live music Thursday through Sunday. American dishes and a full bar. No dance floor but that doesn’t stop patrons from dancing.

We had a wonderful experience at The Sandbar and highly recommend this restaurant! The servers were friendly, knowledgeable, and attentive. The menu was nicely varied. The food was very good quality and very well prepared. The ambiance is nice, moderate noise level without piano and singing, higher with. The piano player and singing were fun. We were there earlier in the evening, our server told us it get livelier later in the evenings with customers often chiming in to sing. Overall, a great restaurant, we will definitely will return!

This is the worst restaurant I’ve ever eaten at—seriously. I don’t leave bad reviews—but they need to be called out! Sent the $25 Shrimp Cocktail back—inedible and indescribable! Had the calamari instead—tasted like Mail-ordered food… Had the Sole with Brown Butter—absolutely terrible translucent old fish swimming in butter… I’m sick describing it. Chloe had the Chicken Piccata that was disgusting!! I can’t fully explain how bad this local restaurant is—obviously caters to the local ‘drinking crowd’ who happily call it home. I wasted $150 and urge you to not follow in my footsteps… hurts to post a bad review but you need to know.

The Sandbar: A laid-back spot perfect for beach vibes and casual dining. Known for fresh seafood, tasty cocktails, and a relaxed atmosphere. Great for gatherings with friends or family. Service is friendly, and the outdoor seating adds to the fun, breezy experience. A solid choice for anyone wanting good food with a chill, coastal feel.

I don’t see the hubbub about this place, the valet was a top notch dude, he has your car ready for you when you step out… But that’s about it. The food is middling, way too much pasta on the shrimp scampi, and it was about what you would make in your own kitchen. There was deviled eggs, so that was a plus, which were decent, but the other options were boringly common. The other dinner options were typical fare for a “fancy” place that does nothing interesting besides the other pomp and circumstances that distract you.
Was it good? Sure… Would I go back? No, it was aggravatingly forgettable for $300 for 5 people

First off we had a good time. Lemon Drops and Martinis from the bar 5 stars.
Clam chowder was 2 stars. If they would have called it clam broth it would be 5 stars. It tasted fantastic. It had about 6 or 8 small clam pieces and that was it. No potatoes or any type of filler. I would call it clam bisque.
I had the fried chicken. It was done perfectly, not rare or over done. Not a lot of flavor in the crust. I ate 2 out of 5 pieces. The vegetables looked fresh and the carrots were excellent. The broccoli was ice cold like it came out of the freezer and was just warmed up. I had a side of spinach that was excellent. Fresh, tasty and a great portion for the price. My wife had veal and she enjoyed it. Decent portion of veal cooked and seasoned perfectly.
We will probably return again and further explore the menu.

Old school restaurant and bar. Food is great as well as the service. Reasonably priced with good wine list and cocktails. Music is appropriate for the setting. One of our favorite places in La Quinta. Wonderful view from the front patio
