Very poor service. Went yesterday, After 30 minutes of waiting for a server to take our order we left. The server claims she didnt know we were there,( we were sitting at a very visible table). She was also quite rude. She never offered an apology for her oversight. The table next to us had been waiting for their food since we arrived and still had not gotten it when we left, they were frustrated. The server stated everyone here is waiting. It would have been more professional for her to offer apologies and explain they were behind. I do understand being busy and short staffed, (I used to waitress too). Communication is key folks! First and last time going here..

Diamond in the rough..I say that being very honest, outside doesn’t look like much, once you go inside you’re taken back a little bit, I didn’t expect such a homey vibe that made my visit more comfortable as I’m more of a introvert with social anxiety..small diner for sure but the food was great! I love the freshness of Sunny’s choice of foods. I had the farmyard special and the red onions were delicious I love that she used red, and my peppers were cooked perfectly! Then my eggs I ordered over easy, and guess what!? They were the best over easy eggs I’ve ever had at a diner! To add I spent about $31 for my adult daughter and I to have breakfast, I thought the pricing was very reasonable, again fresh produce fresh not frozen meat, I think very reasonable. Also wanted to add I wish she sold her coffee mugs, I know I’m not the only mug collector and I liked that mug a lot and would have liked to have purchase one..maybe in the future she’ll have them for sale. Thank you Sunny and Alexis for a great meal and experience.

The waitress is very pleasant and so was the other staff member from the kitchen. My son had a burger with egg and bacon on it and I had a burger with mushrooms and swiss cheese on it and we both had sweet potato fries and coffee. The bun was not bulky and very light and tasty. This made the hamburger very enjoyable as I do not like a lot of bread. They are closed on Mondays and the rest of the week they’re open 7:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.. the waitress told me that on Fridays they do have fish fry. My wife had the BLT, and she said it was good. There was a young man waiting tables on 1/3/24 & he was pleasant & did a good job.

**The Fireside / Sunny’s Kitchen: A Cozy Culinary Haven**

Tucked away in the heart of our community is a hidden gem that captures the essence of warmth, exceptional cuisine, and unwavering hospitality — The Fireside / Sunny’s Kitchen. Despite its unassuming size, this small yet modern cafe/diner has carved out a special place in the hearts of locals and visitors alike, offering an experience that goes beyond mere dining.

**A Culinary Delight: Bacon, Pepper, and Broccoli Omelet & Apple Cinnamon Pancakes:**

The culinary journey at The Fireside / Sunny’s Kitchen commenced with a delightful exploration of their menu, and two items particularly stood out. The Bacon, Pepper, and Broccoli Omelet was a symphony of flavors, showcasing a perfect amalgamation of ingredients. The cheese, flawlessly melted, complemented the almost crispy bacon, creating a savory masterpiece that delighted the taste buds.

Equally impressive were the Apple Cinnamon Pancakes. Served in pairs, these pancakes were not your average breakfast fare. The thickness of each pancake was immediately apparent, and as they graced the table, the unmistakable aroma of apple cinnamon filled the air. From the first bite to the last, the pancakes delivered on their promise of a delectable blend of sweet apple and warm cinnamon, providing a memorable start to the day.

**Intimate Setting:**

One of the most charming aspects of The Fireside / Sunny’s Kitchen is its intimate setting. The cafe’s modest size fosters an environment where every patron feels like a welcomed guest. During our visit, the warmth of a cozy fireplace embraced us, creating a haven of comfort as snow gracefully danced outside. While the bar-like seating at the front adds a touch of modernity, we opted for a nicely sized table for four, ensuring a comfortable and spacious dining experience.

**Cleanliness and Ambiance:**

Despite its quaint size, cleanliness at The Fireside / Sunny’s Kitchen is not compromised. The diner exudes a level of tidiness that speaks to the commitment of the staff to provide a hygienic and inviting space. The ambiance is a delightful balance of rustic charm and contemporary flair, creating an inviting atmosphere that resonates with the warmth of community.

**Exceptional Service:**

Our experience was elevated by the exceptional service provided by the knowledgeable and attentive waitress. From offering insightful menu recommendations to ensuring our drinks were promptly refilled, she epitomized professionalism and a genuine dedication to customer satisfaction. Her pleasant demeanor and willingness to engage in friendly conversation further added to the overall positive impression.

The diner proudly stands as a local treasure, where each visit is a guarantee of great food, welcoming ambiance, and a sense of community that is often lost in larger establishments.

Great food and reasonable portion size. This is an old building, a little bit chilly in here. Food came out hot. The skillet was tasteful along with the home fries. Well worth the visit. Service was excellent.

Today was my first time eating here. Our server was excellent and super friendly. The place is kept spotlessly clean. I had an omelette and it was cooked perfectly. It’s hard to get an omelette that’s not over cooked! The breakfast potatoes were fresh and very tasty. So good. The pancakes were delicious as well. I recommend and will be returning!

1.Started off with walking in and the lady and girl said,”Doesn’t anyone sleep in anymore?”
*Being completely serious!
2. They just stared at us as we walked in. WE had to ask if we seat ourselves.
3. We had to go to the counter AFTER sitting for 20 minutes waiting for a refill of coffee. The waitresses were standing behind the counter talking most of the time.
4. After we were done eating, we sat for another 15 minutes before WE went up to the counter to ask for a box and the check.
We only had 4 people and a toddler in our party.
We will NOT be returning!

I travel thru the United States and eat at alot of Restaurants but wow another good hometown Restaurant I am thrilled when I can sit down to a good homemade not from a box Restaurant. To start off the waitress Alexis was very courteous and witty. She is the Star of the place you can tell by the regulars at the bar that they really enjoy gabbing with her and talking about Life in general. But the real Star is the service, food and coffee. I ordered the home fries eggs and toast it was plenty and a price I did not mind paying. And a very homey atmosphere. I will have to stop in again when I am in town. Stop in it won’t disappoint.

I just want to start by saying I’m a server and have worked in the field for over 10 years. I understand the work load of a restaurant. That being said, it can be very overwhelming and mistakes happen, I get it. However, my experience today at this restaurant was extremely disappointing.

To sum up this review, the food was ok. The customer service is ABSOLUTELY botched, and is the only reason why I will never return, and encourage others not to either.

I came with 2 friends and we ordered coffee. There was no cream on the table and servers weren’t around so had to take some from another. Not a huge deal. Had to ask for waters afterwords which was also fine. Our server forgot to bring us the water so 5 minutes passed, we asked again. Forgetful again, waters weren’t brought until 20 minutes after when our food arrived. There was a LARGE piece of plastic in my water. I initially thought it was a piece of egg until further examination. I just want to point out that this is physical contamination. With no straws given to us, drinking this water without realizing the contaminate could have resulted in choking, and much worse. Our Server never returned until we ate all our food, she just tossed the check on the table and walked away. Not acknowledging anything, there was no “anything else I can grab for you today?” “How was your meal today?” Nothing. She didn’t even look at me. So I waited til she walked by again to grab her attention, and told her there was plastic in my water. Her reaction was normal and she took my water away saying “omg how’d that get in there.” She never brought me another water. Came back to give me change, though. I have never wanted to undertip a restaurant before until now. I never reached out to management considering the amount of mistakes that already happened here today. I didn’t think much would come from it. So instead I write this review. Hope anyone else who eats there will leave less thirsty than I did. I’ll be at Dennys.
