I gave Giovanni’s in West Liberty, KY, five stars until I ordered a 19-inch cheese stick.
Then again, I think it was a 19-inch trash bin because the cheese lid flipped up. The cheese and the dough did not adhere. When I returned on June 28th, they remade the cheese stick, and I checked it in the parking lot and got the same result. I went back in, got many excuses, and asked for a 10 and an 8. They said to come back in 10 minutes. I came back and got a 19-inch trash bin again. There was no adhesion for the cheese. They refused to replace it. I was told that is how the manager trained them to do it. I figured I would wait a few days for the new owner and see what he would do. He made excuses and told me to talk to the old owner. I have a sneaking feeling that even though he said he fired many of the people, the ones that were an issue are still there, like the manager who told them how to make it. I do not know for sure; it’s just a feeling. If the process is as he tried to explain it to me, there is no wonder it is not working right at times. I also asked other Giovannis how I would replicate it, but they had no idea and were concerned about how it was done. I will include a picture of what I got the last time. I showed it to them before even leaving the establishment. I will drive to a different county if I want Giovanni’s.
I figured I would edit it and add this. This travesty is not one visit. It is two visits and three cheese sticks over three weeks, just in case you think it was a fluke. Two cheese sticks were done back to back.

We had the lunch buffet. The pizza and cheesy breadsticks were delicious. The staff were nice. The place was clean. I am sure we’ll be going again soon.

Stooped by for a pizza, my preference when I’m im the area. Ordered online, you get 20% off your first order and earn loyalty points. Pizza was great, dining room clean and welcoming. I didn’t dine in. It was a Monday late afternoon, so I’m not very busy. Walked in, got my order, and e hoped my food. Pricing is worth it for sure. They didn’t give me any napkins automatically, assuming that’s not the norm, so ask, and you shall receive. I had called in to confirm they do follow giovanni’s standards and put pepperoni under the cheese, my favorite, which they did. The lady I spoke to wasn’t very friendly, but not mean either. The staff that greeted me were very friendly and made up for it! Would recommend paying them a visit.

This place offers delicious food, but the ingredients have seemed to have taken a hit recently. There are fewer toppings and cheese. However, the owner is a genuine community person who takes a keen interest in youth and youth sports.

I have been to several other Giovanni’s locations so I thought I would try this one while I was in town. I had an issue with my order but was given a refund and apologies. The employees were friendly, the restaurant was larger than some other locations.

We walked in for lunch. After the counter explained some of their deals to us, three of us decided on what we wanted. The staff explained that we could get a better deal if we went another way. Their choice gave us a bigger pizza and a 2 liter of soda cheaper than what we would’ve paid our way. Saved us money and brought us a hot and fresh brownie. Great service and the food was awesome.

Arrived at 4:15 and ordered for dine-in around 4:25. Our food didn’t get to us until 5:45. We were the only dine-in.
Salad tasted like it had chemicals, which I couldn’t eat any longer due to the gross taste.
We received no plates for the pizza, so whatever.
My daughter tried to choke down the nasty pizza sauce, which she gagged on. Not sure why this place is still open. If I can give negative stars I would.

Giovanni’s in WL has definitely amped up its game. Food was good, service was good. Installing a music system for background noise would definitely help the environment, it feels cold and without hospitality but that could be an easy fix. The hours on Google are incorrect despite it saying they were verified 2 weeks ago. Definitely not open until 10 on Sunday. It has all the potential to be a fun place to have dinner and hang out. I hope they keep taking steps forward.

The people are great and the atmosphere in the place is great. But the food is not for me there’s normally not enough dough, and the dough sometimes doesn’t taste the way like most pizza places around. But over all great food almost never gotten an order wrong. There subs and fries are great.
