Unassumingly place at first because it appears that you’re walking into a little liquor store and then you open the door to a regular bar. If you walk around the corner though an eclectic dining room with plush couches and a lounge for you can sip on a drink next to the fire. The food was very good though pricey. You do get quality though. My favorite was their French onion soup. The portions are generous and you can tell that each dish is well thought out because everything surprised me when they came out, homemade pickled vegetables and smoky eggplant. It’ll be a memorable meal

This place is wonderful. I actually stayed at the A Frame Club and dined here twice during my stay. While I also tried three other restaurants in town, the Saloon got the gold. Service is competent and fast. The ambiance matches the Mad Men retro modern vibe of the inn and the food is generous and delicious. I kept ordering the Last Word based Monk cocktail (mezcal/chartreuse). I recommend the duck poutine, the trout, and the cherry goat cheese pie. Highly recommended all around for both solo, couples and groups. I have a separate review for the inn where I give it 5 stars as well.

A truly bizarre experience from start to finish. Don’t believe them when they said “shareable” vs single portion. The vegetable small plate tasted like half-cooked carrots marinated in liquid smoke (ie. bad). The burger was tiny and the French onion soup with a “grilled cheese” was a comical interpretation of a tv show making fun of the tiny portions and weird menus of “fine dining”. At the end, we were given the bill of the VIP guest who sat there before us, which was 2-3x the cost of ours. It seems they hide their worse reviews on a different Google listing, because if we’d seen those sooner we would’ve just gone someplace back in town. Go for a decent cocktail, don’t waste your money on their food.

If I could give this 0 stars I would. We just left The Saloon at the Aframe Club in Winter Park, CO. It is a new establishment and I had very high hopes for this place but, wow, what a disappointment! Initially, we arrived around 6:00, greeted by a nice hostess, told her we didn’t have reservations and was accommodated with a table, no problem – encouraging. After a smidge too long, we met the waitress who took our drink order, salad order and our dinner order at the same time. After about 15 minutes we received our salad (which was good) and our drinks. This was the last we saw of her in at least an hour. During that time the hostess refilled our water decanter and cleared the salad plates. We were never asked if we wanted another drink or an update on the order. I turned around to see our waitress SITTING at a customer’s table chatting it up for at least 15 minutes! When I flagged her down to ask for our food she returned from the kitchen to say it would be another few minutes and then announced that they would comp what we had consumed. We told them we would pay for what we ate but she said they would just comp it. No responsibility taken for clearly forgetting our order, never checking on us at all, the worst service ever. When you charging the prices you are for dinner, which we didn’t mind, there are expectations for half way decent service. It’s your only job for God’s sake! An hour and a half for salad and one drink…… ridiculous. The apathy was amazing! Not sure if this is a case of a really inept server or a complete fail of a restaurant. Really unfortunate experience. Won’t return. Remember – you only have one chance to make a good first impression!

My first experience with this restaurant. Without a reservation I was immediately seated at the bar. After sitting for a few minutes and showing interest we were given a tour of the wood fired grill in the kitchen. The sous vide was the best I have ever had. The staff was motivated. The food was excellent. 5 stars highly recommend!!!
