First of all- this town is the cutest!
The service at this restaurant was friendly and felt like home. We enjoyed their lunch special- 1/2 lobster roll with chowder.

This is by far our favourite place outside of Halifax for lunch. Another visit yesterday and again it did not disappoint.
We started with a few cocktails, which were both delicious. Blue Berry soda cocktail made with locally distilled blueberry flavored vodka. So refreshing on a warm day. The cesar was perfectly seasoned.
She had a cup of shellfish chowder while I enjoyed a 1/2 pound of mussels. Both were yummy!!
We both had a single order of fish & chips. You can’t go wrong with this. Light, crispy batter over perfectly cooked fish. An ample amount of fries and coleslaw accompany the fish.
I always recommend this place to anyone traveling down to Chester. The staff are friendly, the atmosphere is so welcoming, and the ocean view from the patio is second to none.

Chowder was full of all kind of seafood! Burger was great – the meat and vegs were soooo good! ☺️
Still, we would recommend to add some authentic crafted sauces to it (please don’t use a standard ketchup > it kills the taste of the meat ). And please, add here an option to sides as mashed potatoes, or grilled vegetables. The fryes were good, but it’s just another idea for diversity.
I suppose in summer they have more options of the salads, vegs.
Desert.. It’s was Bailey’s cheesecake. Delicious!…,
But! (hope it could help to upgrade it having perfect! don’t be upset about that – everything is great! Just we are an experts in desserts and delicious food, unfortunately )
Anyway, we were soooo happy about the food, the place, the ocean view and the service! Amazing! Thank you for this experience!❤️

I had the opportunity to go to the Rope Loft on a date with someone special. He highly recommended the chowder. We went mid- afternoon and the waitresses were very kind and accommodating. The view is beautiful from there. We both had a bowl of chowder and it was all seafood. It was one of the best chowders I’ve had all year. Thank you for making my first experience amazing.

Very cool spot in Chester! Had the bbq chicken flatbread pizza and it was delicious. It gets busy really quickly because it’s one of the few restaurants in Chester. I’d recommend going earlier than your usual dinner time to snag a spot if you don’t want takeout.

Great experience with good portions. Staff are extremely friendly and knowledgeable about their food. The food was delicious and plentiful. Some advice, staff expressing their concern in their outside voice; makes a five star a three star. It took away from a great experience, hearing two servers, complain and worry about how their cash out. The atmosphere would have been awesome with a five star view of the harbour.

This place has amazing views and amazing food. A little breezy by the water. We ate our main course on their upper deck then they offered us inside dinning for coffee and dessert. I’ve tried a number of chowders and the chowder here was easily the best. Well worth the money, just LOADED with fish it was fantastic (I got the haddock chowder). The shrimp taco was also amazing. Other memebers of our party tried the pan seared halibut and seafood chowder. Everything looked and tasted amazing. This place did not disappoint. The waitress was also good and was filled with recommendations. The dessert we tried was an apple and blueberry crumble which I would also get again. Loved everything here. If you want to sit outside bring layers to stay warm but it’s worth it!

My haddock melted in my mouth & that Cesar salad was one of the best I’ve ever had, & I’ve had many in some high end restaurants, it has a little something different & welcoming in it to put it to my #1 spot.
The view from the patio was stunning.
Will be back again for the food & atmosphere.

Really nice place with a definite local vibe to it. Loved the food and service. Had a bowl of the haddock chowder and it was absolutely delicious (and filling). Was pouring rain when we went, so we sat inside, but it was warm and cozy. Will definitely go back on a sunny day to enjoy the patio that is right on the water. Definitely recommend going and then visiting the town and local shops.

Service set to 3 stars is a bit of a misnomer… Service was good, food was great… We just had to wait 90 minutes or more when told the wait would be 20 minutes.
Food was worth it… The rizotto was so good! Clubhouse was delicious and we all took down the chowder which may have been a shade on the fishy side, but still delectable.
The fries were top drawer with with kids fish and chips and chicken strips.
